About a year ago, the new MMORPG The Quinfall was announced for Steam out of nowhere. Its high ambitions have caused skepticism among many players. Early testers can try the game at the end of January.
What features does The Quinfall promise?
- The Quinfall is said to offer many freedoms like owning shops or taverns
- An action-packed combat system, beautiful graphics, and a dynamic weather and season system are supposed to be included in the game
- Utility and riding animals can probably be bred by players themselves
- Not only houses, but also personal ships are to be built
- For PvE players, the title would offer dungeons and gigantic boss fights
- There are supposed to be massive battles for PvP players
When is the Closed Beta starting? On January 30, 2024, the first testers can see for themselves what the game has to offer. The developer team from Vawraek Studios announced yesterday on their own Discord server that the first keys will be distributed to participants “soon”. Only selected players can participate.
In an initial alpha trailer, some of the promised features were already visible. The MMORPG offers many options that players desire. However, due to the many promises, the title appears to some people as a scam.

Fans suspect a scam behind The Quinfall
What is the problem? Several users point out that The Quinfall may involve a similar situation to The Day Before. Only a few days after the release, the studio behind the title closed. There were false promises made beforehand, which were deemed fraud.
Behind The Quinfall, a similar case might exist. User morgenthau lists several points that strengthen the suspicion of a scam:
We can partially confirm the accused points. On the official website, the photo from the tweet can indeed be seen. However, the developer team states on the Discord server that a total of 56 employees are supposed to be working on the game. This statement contrasts with the actual employee count of only 9 people.
Especially the size of 50 GB raises some players’ concerns. User Dsvice mentions in the reddit forum that 50 GB is too little for a 2,016 km² world. Other comparable games have a significantly smaller area but require more storage space:
- World of Warcraft: 87 GB
- The Elder Scrolls Online: 95 GB
- Guild Wars 2: 70 GB
- Pax Dei: 70 GB
The previous project of the developer team, Kayra Online, is also a point on the list of hints that The Quinfall might involve false promises. The title was abandoned and discontinued even before its official release.
In a beta phase, it was reportedly possible to exchange real money for premium currency (via massivelyop.com, comment by Harry Koala). However, most information about the game has since been removed.
Should I steer clear of The Quinfall? For now, we should wait for the first tests of the game. At the end of January, selected players will have the opportunity to take a first look at the MMORPG.
However, it is justified to approach the game with some skepticism due to cases like The Day Before. Especially the fact that the game is supposed to be Buy2Play while also including a shop is questionable.
Especially with the premium shop of Kayra Online in mind, you should be cautious if you want to invest money in The Quinfall. If you are among the lucky selected individuals allowed to sneak a peek into the MMORPG, it would be advisable to keep your wallet closed for now.
