Pokémon GO introduced a new item during the GO Tour 2025. However, this currently leads to frustrated trainers in the community.
What item is it? If you purchased the ticket for the GO Tour 2025 and made good progress in the tour pass, you could receive the so-called Lucky Trinket as a reward. If you use this item on a friend with whom you have already reached the “Super Friends” level, you will immediately become Lucky Friends.
However, this very item is now causing frustration in the community. And there are not just one, but currently two reasons for this.
Little Time, Many Problems
Why is the item causing frustration? The first point of criticism from the community lies in the limited time available to use the item. Although it was communicated by Niantic that the Lucky Trinket can only be used until March 9, 2025, at 6:00 PM, many trainers seem to have missed this information.
If you use the Trinket on a friend and they become a Lucky Friend, then there is no limitation on when you must perform the next trade. However, the community is still frustrated by the time limitation of the item.
Some of the comments regarding this on Reddit include:
- “Nothing has ever pissed me off more […] Then I find out there is a time limit for the centerpiece? What a complete joke,” writes TheGodskin, the author of the post.
- “It’s pointless that they set such a short deadline to use it,” remarks AnnualExpression3297.
- “I was already upset that there were 3 passes for the Unova Tour, but now they are setting time limits? Niantic, keep it up, you’re losing us,” notes Nullus777.
- “It’s probably intended to prevent people from selling guaranteed lucky trades for any Pokémon,” suspects astralsgf.
What is the second point of criticism? Some trainers in the community also report that they experienced problems with the lucky trade that was triggered by the item.
In this case, the item was used, and a lucky trade was indicated. However, after the trade, trainers found that the traded Pokémon were not lucky Pokémon. This is reported by trainer NeverDeadZombie on Reddit.
The same problem was experienced by Redditor ExtremeSauce. After contacting the Pokémon GO support, the Lucky Trinket was replaced, but the traded Pokémon were not reverted back, as he also reports on Reddit.
This means that while he can trigger another lucky trade, the previously traded monsters can no longer be traded.
