Wes, the boy who was the first to enter the wasteland of Fallout 76 due to his terminal cancer, has passed away. Now the community pays its respects to him.
What happened? A while ago, we reported about little Wes. He suffered from neuroblastoma, a deadly form of cancer. As a big Fallout fan, he feared he would never have the chance to play Fallout 76.
Therefore, Bethesda paid him a visit, along with an early version of Fallout 76. Even before the beta Wes was allowed to explore the game world as the first wastelander and play Fallout 76 himself. As the family has now announced on Facebook, the little man passed away at the age of 12. Thus, the community remembers him.
Community says “Ad Victoriam, Wes”
This is how the community remembers the first wastelander: Many express their condolences and say goodbye to Wes with a quote familiar from Fallout 4, “Ad Victoriam”. This means “To Victory” and originates from a main quest of the Brotherhood of Steel.

Other users call for remembering Wes in the beta before the Vault. Others hope that he will be immortalized somehow in the game. One suggestion is to set up his built camp at the original location as part of the game world.
What are the chances that Wes will be immortalized? Not bad at all. Because Bethesda is known for such gestures. In Fallout 4, there was also a memorial for a deceased player. The young Evan was even included as an NPC in Fallout 4.
In what form Wes could be immortalized, or perhaps has already been immortalized, is just speculation. With the many holotapes and notes in Fallout 76, it would not be surprising to find at least a message. Perhaps we will actually be able to visit his camp.
Either way, Wes will be remembered by many as the first Vault dweller to enter the wasteland.
