In Pokémon GO this Saturday, March 6th, the Community Day featuring Dartiri starts. We will show you all the bonuses and tell you how to make the best of it.
What is a Community Day? This event takes place once a month and focuses on a special Pokémon for a few hours. There are also bonuses and a lot of shinies to round off the event.
In May, everything revolves around Dartiri from Generation 6. The monster will appear everywhere and will make its debut as a shiny.
Community Day in March 2021 – Bonuses and Start Time
When? On Saturday, March 6th, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.
Pokémon of the day: Dartiri appears more frequently in the wild
Exclusive moves: Incinerate
Bonus: Triple XP for catching Pokémon
Bonus: Three-hour duration of incense
Bonus: You can evolve Dartignis up to 2 hours after the event to have Fiaro learn the move Incinerate.
The Community Day will last a total of 6 hours this month as well. This has been the case since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, so you have enough time to catch the event Pokémon from home.
What’s available in the in-game shop: For this Community Day, you will also find numerous offers in the in-game shop. These include:
- For one euro, you can buy a special research focusing on Dartiri
- For 1,280 coins, there is a box containing: 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Lucky Eggs, one Knursp, and one Premium Battle Pass
How to best utilize the Community Day
How to prepare well: Before the Community Day, you should make some preparations. Make sure to gather enough balls in advance so that you can catch without interruption during the event. We recommend a reserve of around 300 balls. Fortunately, Niantic made some changes just before the Community Day so you can save plenty of balls.
Additionally, you should diligently sort out your Pokémon box so that you have enough space and do not have to sort through the box repeatedly during the event. This takes a lot of time and can be avoided.
Use these items at the event: This time there are triple XP for caught Pokémon. If you also activate a Lucky Egg, you will get six times the XP. This bonus is exciting, especially for players who still need experience points on their way to level 50. So use Lucky Eggs to easily earn over 1000 XP per catch.
How to play effectively from home: If you want to play only from home, you should primarily use incense. It lasts for 3 hours at the event and with just 2 incenses, you can utilize all event hours. This way, you will have enough Dartiri to catch at least some shinies.
Is the Community Day worth it? The Community Day brings a new shiny with Dartiri, so every trainer should at least hunt for it. However, if you catch enough shinies, you can take it easier.
Fiaro, the evolution of Dartiri, is not really useful, and you do not necessarily need a good specimen of it. So if you do not have too much time this weekend, you are not missing out on much.
In the anime, Dartiri also plays a role, as Ash has a specimen that appears in various episodes. It evolves over time into Fiaro, with which Ash regularly battles.

This is what the shinies look like: With Shiny Dartiri, you need to look a little closer. You can recognize it by the brown chest feathers, which distinguish it from the normal form:
How likely is a shiny? The probability is always increased on Community Day. It is about 1 in 25. This is a significant improvement, as otherwise, the shiny rate for most shinies in the wild is about 1 in 450.
