In a few hours, Call of Duty WW2 will be released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. However, owners of the disc version will first need to download a 9GB patch before they can play.
It won’t be long until you can grab your weapon in the new installment of the Call of Duty series. In CoD:WWII, the focus is on World War II. After being able to shoot in space in the last part “Infinite Warfare”, you are now returning to reality.
Players who purchased a disc version will first need to download an update before they can get started.
CoD WWII Update – First patch, then play
You can play the single-player or any other mode in CoD WWII only after you have downloaded the large Day-1 patch.
This discovery was made by players who were able to install their early versions of the shooter. However, after installing, they couldn’t proceed. Now, the important patch is available, which is needed to play.
Developer Sledgehammer released a 9.4GB patch on the servers. Only when this is downloaded will single-player, zombie mode, and more be activated.
Headquarters – Watch others open loot boxes
The Headquarters in CoD WWII are the social gathering place for up to 48 players. Here you can find shooting ranges, pits for 1v1 fights, and large TVs where you can watch the eSports matches of the pros.
However, loot boxes also rain down from the sky. When you request these, they drop as supply drops from the air. Other players can watch you as you retrieve the loot from the boxes. They see the box and the three cards that are displayed to you – and they also receive rewards for it!
In the video, Reddit user cuzseile shows how to open these supply drops in CoD WWII:
At the launch of Call of Duty WW2, there are supposed to be significantly fewer cheaters than in the testing phases. Recently, many gamers complained during the open beta about the numerous hackers who were a nuisance in matches. The developers promised that there would be more measures against cheaters at release.
