The P90 is rather considered a secondary weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone. However, it has its fans because it is very stable and reliable. With this setup, you can hardly miss in close combat.
You need to be able to rely on strong weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone. Fortunately, jams or broken guns are not part of the gameplay. However, recoil plays a significant role, and when you engage an enemy, you want to be sure that the weapons hit a large portion of the bullets on target.
This applies to all-around rifles from the assault rifle and LMG classes, but also to the close-combat beasts from the submachine gun class. Many players rely on two guns for SMGs:
- MP5 – High damage and good range, but somewhat shaky
- MP7 – The only SMG without attachments in the ranking of the 10 most stable weapons in Warzone
But this should be about a weapon that flies under the radar for many Warzone soldiers: the P90. MeinMMO presents a setup that makes the MP very enjoyable to control. And since it deals damage at MP7 level, it is also competitive and definitely worth a try.
Warzone P90 setup plays at the highest level
What does the setup look like? When assembling the setup, care was taken to find a good mix of control and range. A very similar attachment combination is recommended by YouTuber and CoD expert JGOD, who examined the characteristics of the P90 in one of his English YouTube videos.
Warzone P90 Setup
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: FSS 10.6″ Pro
- Stock: FORGE TAC Close Combat Wedge
- Underbarrel: Patterned Grip Tape
- Grip: Patterned Grip Tape
What are its capabilities? Barrel and suppressor increase your range and still allow you to deal full damage at nearly 17 meters.
The barrel, along with the patterned grip tape on the underbarrel, helps with recoil control. Don’t be confused by the two patterned grip tapes. The tape on the underbarrel corresponds roughly to the underbar grips that other weapons offer.
More attachments for better aiming are not necessary for this MP, as it already plays smoothly and pleasantly by itself. This is also the great strength of the P90. From the very first shot, you have extremely good control and can easily keep your crosshairs on the enemy during sustained fire.
With the patterned grip tape in the grip slot and the close combat wedge as the stock, you increase your aim down sights speed. Since the MP is purely intended for close combat, you can also get more out of the barrel here. We chose only the shorter barrel because you seldom need the longer barrel’s greater range, saving some time in aiming.
What else can I try? You can achieve even higher aiming speed by switching the suppressor. Instead of the monolithic version, take the tactical suppressor to be 10 milliseconds faster in aiming. However, you will lose nearly 2 meters of range in your first damage zone.
Instead of the patterned grip tape on the grip attachment, you can switch to the tactical laser for a significant boost in speed and targeting stability. But in close combat, the laser can easily betray you.
P90 can compete with MP5 and MP7
How does it compare to the strong competition? To give you an idea of where the weapon stands with this setup, here’s the range/damage comparison including the time to aim with the MP5 and MP7 in a graphic from truegamedata.com:
Here you will find the comparison setups of the competing weapons:
- MP5 – Nerfed many times, but still strong in Warzone with this setup
- MP7 – reddit guide with values and setup
The MP5 provides a strong time-to-kill up to just over 10 meters and is only beaten by a few competitors here – for example by the R9-0 with Dragon’s Breath. However, beyond that, you get better damage performance in close combat with the MP7 and P90.
It’s good to see how close the P90 and MP7 are to each other. Since the graphic considers your time to aim, you can still achieve quite a lot with the MP7. The MP7 setup relies on the longest barrel and the 60-round magazine. If you make some compromises here, you can drive the TTK+ADS time below that of the P90.
However, neither the MP5 nor the MP7 can compete with its range. And this is despite the fact that we chose the shorter barrel for the P90. If you want to sacrifice some aim speed here, you can still deal full damage out to nearly 20 meters. Together with outstanding stability, this setup of the P90 gives you a serious competitor to the two meta weapons of Warzone.
If you are using submachine guns in Warzone, give the P90 a try. Its high stability can definitely pay off for you, as even slight recoil can become a problem in the heat of battle.
