In Call of Duty: Warzone, there are sometimes minor or major bugs. One of the most unfair glitches in the game is finally set to disappear – the invulnerable gas mask.
What kind of bug is this? To protect you in the Warzone from the deadly, radioactive gas, a special item is available that allows you to survive a few seconds outside the gas-free play area – the gas mask.
Overall, the equipment provides you with 12 seconds of protection from the harmful effects of the poison gas. This way, you can survive twice as long in the player-hostile area compared to without a mask.
Due to a glitch that occurs sometimes and randomly, the mask does not break when its time is up. Players with these super masks are completely immune to the gas and its unpleasant properties.
Rare Mask Glitch Disrupts Normal Gameplay
Why is this so unfair? The gas forms the boundary of the play area and should rarely or never be entered. When soldiers now have unrestricted access here, it leads to really unfair advantages:
- You can move freely across the entire Warzone map
- You can shoot better at enemies from the gas than the other way around
- With the glitch, you could simply wait out the match until the enemies give up
The gas mask glitch is therefore considered one of the most unfair bugs plaguing the Battle Royale. Only cheaters and hackers above it are still a major problem for Warzone. Also, because it has now come to light that they can easily buy back into the game for just $2 after a ban.
When will the glitch disappear? An exact date is not yet known, but the bug now appears on the developers’ Trello board. Here, Infinity Ward lists bugs in the game that the creators are currently working on. Regarding the mask glitch, it says:
- In rare cases, the gas mask can become invulnerable and does not completely break when it reaches 0 health.

It is difficult to assess when exactly the fix will go into the game. The developers do not provide any information on the board about how long they expect to need for the entries there or what they are currently working on intensively.
When we can say goodbye to the mask glitch is not entirely clear. Similar to the strong assault rifle Grau 5.56. A nerf is expected here and MeinMMO has already put together a few “Goodbye Grau” setups for you.
