Submachine guns are the little helpers in close combat of Call of Duty: Warzone when the big weapons become too bulky or slow. A loadout with a strong sniper rifle or a versatile assault rifle only becomes really good when you have a suitable solution for the short distances.
Submachine guns, also known as SMGs, offer you the perfect characteristics: They are fast and deal great damage. Compared to big guns, you are more mobile and quicker to the sight, but you also lose damage if the opponent stands just that crucial meter too far away.
While SMGs were almost useless at the beginning of 2021 due to overpowering close-combat assault rifles like the FFAR 1, the little close combat fighters have fully integrated back into the meta and have become an important part of almost all playstyles.
