With the new Season 6, there have been some important weapon adjustments in Call of Duty: Warzone. 5 strong meta-weapons are now harder to play, and you might be looking for alternatives. MeinMMO shows you one meta-alternative for assault rifles, LMGs, and submachine guns.
What were the nerfs? With the new Season 6 of Call of Duty: Warzone, not only did Verdansk take a hit. The weapon meta was also shaken up a bit, and 5 strong meta weapons received a nerf:
- Assault Rifle C58 – More recoil
- Assault Rifle EM2 – More recoil
- LMG Stoner 63 – More recoil
- LMG MG82 – More recoil
- OTs 9 – About attachments: Less mobility
First of all: The weapons were not “broken”. Apart from the Stoner, which now has significantly more recoil, the adjustments were rather moderate. However, the C58, EM2, and MG82 were already on the edge of relaxed playability – especially with a small console FOV. And the OTs 9 faces strong competition in the field of SMGs.
If you’re looking for alternatives now, we suggest 3 weapons that you can use to replace the weaker meta-weapons from Season 5. If you’re looking for new weapons in the meta, check this out.
Assault Rifles – AK-47 from Cold War mixes damage & control
How strong were the nerfs of the C58 and EM2? The two assault rifles were not considered lasers before Season 6 and now come with even more recoil. The adjustments were not exaggerated, but they do bring a bit less control for the two popular firearms.
If you liked the weapons in Season 5, you can still rely on the assault rifles.
Why the AK-47? The AK-47 from Cold War also falls into the category “Not a laser, but Oh wow”. Currently, the AK is an all-rounder and can be a reliable companion for you in close and long-range combat.
If you had the C58 or the EM2 under control at long range, you’ll be fine with the AK-47, which also provides strong values for Time-to-Kill:
- TTK: Long Range / Chest Hit
- EM2: 678 milliseconds
- AK-47: 700 milliseconds
- C58: 764 milliseconds
Who should switch now? Especially players of the C58 should seriously consider switching to the AK-47 from Cold War now. If you like to use your assault rifle at shorter distances, the AK also surpasses the EM2 in damage.
Together with the controllable recoil the Russian original is currently a force in Warzone that you should not ignore.
