Leveling weapons and unlocking new camos is part of everyday life in Call of Duty. And now this can be done without a gaming PC or a PS5.
Call of Duty: Warzone is an important and influential title for the popular shooter franchise. For many “Battle Royale” fans, the game is one of the best representatives of the genre, going head-to-head with Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PUBG for years.
The three major competitors of Warzone are ahead in one clear aspect: they are also available on mobile devices. This may not matter to die-hard gamers with a powerful gaming PC or console, but it still allows access to the shooter for players who cannot afford or do not possess the common platforms for other reasons. Moreover, it expands the player base, which should always be good news for fans.
Call of Duty followed suit on March 21, 2024, releasing Warzone Mobile. This is also interesting for PC and console players, as it allows you to level your weapons for the console and PC versions, even when you do not have access to that platform. This way, you can unlock new camos even when you are not at home.
The Return of Verdansk
What do you need to know about Warzone Mobile? Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will bring the familiar gameplay of Battle Royales to smartphones. With up to 120 players, you will dive into battle – on familiar maps beloved by fans such as Verdansk and Rebirth Island. You will have access to the weapons from the current Modern Warfare 3 and the classic Warzones.
As Chris Plummer from Activision revealed to us in an interview, it will also be possible – with some exceptions – to use your skins purchased in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 in Warzone Mobile.
Additionally, you can access your normal CoD friends list and play with the same teammates as on PC or console. To ensure you can communicate properly in Warzone Mobile, Plummer assured us that there will be a voice and text chat as usual. You will also be able to hear other players nearby who are not in your squad.
Controller instead of Touchscreen
What is Activision’s stance on controllers in Warzone Mobile? Plummer explained to us that playing with a controller in CoD Warzone Mobile is possible and does not constitute a violation of any rules. However, it must be possible to link your controller and smartphone via Bluetooth.
Playing with a controller can certainly provide a significant advantage. Nevertheless, all players will be in the same player pool at the release of Warzone Mobile. Over time, the team plans to re-evaluate whether they want to add different rules for gameplay.
