CoD Warzone & Vanguard have officially announced their Season 3. With the release of the new trailer, there were also some hints that a mega event could come to the island of Caldera. Is CoD adapting to Fortnite?
As reported by MeinMMO, there have been concrete rumors and leaks about a mega event in CoD Warzone and Vanguard since February 2022. With the Season 3 trailer, the hints have become even more specific:
Godzilla and presumably also King Kong could cause chaos in Season 3 of CoD Warzone & Vanguard. Such a crazy mega-event with a prominent film crossover continues a new trend in CoD. Battle Royale fans are reminded a lot of Fortnite.

What has been discovered? In the latest trailer for Season 3 of CoD Warzone & Vanguard, attentive viewers can discover something special. In the last 10 seconds, a strange sound can be heard, which sounds like a curious mix of an alarm and whale song.
This sound may be familiar to film fans and Kaijū fans. It is the ORCA signal from the Godzilla universe. This signal allows people in the universe to communicate with and even control Titans like Godzilla.
Most film fans probably know this sound from Godzilla: King of the Monsters or the Hollywood blockbuster Godzilla vs Kong from 2021. Here you can listen to this sound on repeat if needed:
Are there more hints? But this Orca signal is not the only hint that came with the announcement of Season 3.
On Twitter, the official Call of Duty account shared a strange audio clip, stating that “further spectral analysis is needed to decipher the signal”.
As some users have found out, you can discover an inscription if you run this sound through a spectrogram. Simply uploading the sound in audio programs like Audacity shows that the sound hides a message: ‘Monsters are real’.
Since multiple “monsters” are mentioned here and not just a single monster, the suspicion is strong that this confirms speculation around King Kong alongside Godzilla.

How do the monsters work in the game? How exactly the two monsters could appear in Warzone and Vanguard is currently unknown. The community speculates that they could appear in a mega event, as seen in Fortnite. The exact gameplay effects could be varied:
The leaks in February showed images of King Kong swatting WW2 planes from the sky, for example. Influencers like Modern Warzone suspect that Godzilla could cause a volcanic eruption at Peak (via Twitter). Other fans fear that Godzilla and King Kong could be just as annoying as the Christmas monster Krampus, which ruined the fun for many CoD players over the holidays.
