The first joint season of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War is online and causing a lot of trouble. A drastic and simple glitch has been rampant through the Battle Royale Warzone, so the new vehicle had to be removed.
What is going on? With the launch of Season 1 in CoD: Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone also benefited from a major content drop. Tons of new weapons, a fresh map, and a new progression system were introduced. Unfortunately, a nasty glitch that makes players invisible also came into play.
The developers have now pulled the emergency brake and removed the cause of the nasty bug that players have been exploiting since the release of the new season in a small patch: the attack helicopters. One of the responsible developer studios, Raven Software, commented on this on Twitter:
Translation of the tweets:
The attack helicopter has been temporarily removed from the Warzone maps – Verdansk and Rebirth Island. The vehicle will return once the issues are resolved. The regular helicopter remains available.
To clarify: This change addresses the bug that made players invisible to others.
Invisibility glitch raged for a day in the Battle Royale
How bad was the glitch? At least on the level of the Juggernaut bug, which represented the biggest problem of Warzone prior to the season release. In fact, it was even worse. Because the bug was really easy to trigger and could be executed with significantly less effort than the Juggernaut glitch.
What did it look like? On social media, you can find many clips of Warzone soldiers who couldn’t believe what was happening again.
Some even believed that the glitchers were the notorious players under the map. But a look at the kill cam makes it clear – it’s much worse.
Another squad followed a glitcher for a while in the “spectator” camera. They see in the scenes material for a horror movie. An invisible soldier spreading fear, terror, and execution in Verdansk. The end of this match fits as well: Good prevails and only one player survives the ruthless killer.
This is not the first time that helis have disappeared from Warzone. There was once a relatively simple glitch with the vehicles that allowed players to cause mischief with the aircraft under the map. However, the newest bug takes it a step further.
Back then, it didn’t even take a week for the aircraft to be back in the game. However, that was more of a map issue. So far, there has been no statement on how long it could take this time. At least the new Easter egg on Rebirth Island works as planned.
