Call of Duty: Warzone, the battle royale mode from CoD: Modern Warfare, will receive a playlist update tomorrow morning. Included is a change that has been loudly requested by many.
Update April 17, 8:00 AM: The new update is now live on all platforms and not only brings back the Trios. More information can be found here: CoD Warzone: New update finally brings Trios back – and a surprise
This is what Infinity Ward announced: This will please many players: As Infinity Ward, the developers of CoD: Modern Warfare and Warzone, recently stated on Twitter, the Trios will return to the battle royale tomorrow – a 3-player mode.
So, tomorrow, on April 17, at 8:00 AM German time, there will be a playlist update that reactivates the trio format.
Keep in mind: Although the tweet states April 16 – 11 PM PST on April 16 in the USA corresponds to 8 AM on April 17 in Germany.
Therefore, the change is likely to please many players: Quite simply – Trios is currently simply the best and most popular format in Call of Duty: Warzone. This became clear quickly when Trios was first removed at the beginning of Season 3 and replaced with Quads.
The outcry in the community was massive, fans took to the barricades en masse and demanded the return of Trios. They then came back, but the popular format was removed again with the update on Tuesday, April 14, this time in favor of the limited-time mode “Scopes and Scatter Guns”.
In recent days, the excitement on reddit and social media has been correspondingly high again. Players, YouTubers, and streamers are once again calling for the return of Trios. Few can understand why the developers removed the mode after the first wave of protest.
Warzone is said to be played best in the Trios format for many, that is the consensus. In general, there is a call not to constantly remove modes, but to make all formats available at the same time, so that teams of all sizes – from solo to Quads – always get their money’s worth.
As the developers noted in the tweet, they have clearly heard the feedback and are bringing back Trios tomorrow. Whether the limited-time mode will have to give way for this, or whether Trios will be added to the playlist, is still unclear.
What else will change tomorrow morning? The developers have not revealed that yet. However, it is assumed that the playlists and modes in the traditional multiplayer could also be refreshed and that new bundles will come to the in-game shop.
What do you think? Do you also prefer playing Trios? Do you like Quads better? And what do you think about the constant rotation of modes? By the way, another format could soon be introduced in Warzone: Are you annoyed by the Quads mode? An alternative could soon arrive.
