In Call of Duty: Warzone there seems to be a problem with the loot at the moment. Players have found a way to start a match already with armor and money. This disrupts the fairness in the Battle Royale.
What advantage is this? Some players have found a way to start a round in Warzone already equipped with gear. Normally, everyone should only start with a pistol and two armor plates.
However, players have managed to equip three full armor plates and take up to $800 in cash before even jumping out of the plane.
On reddit, user Aviationist posted a picture showing his gear. The plane is just flying over Verdansk, and it is already evident there that he has more loot than he should.
Aviationist is using an Xbox controller, so he is presumably playing on the Xbox One or with the controller on PC. Whether the exploit occurs on PlayStation 4 as well, we cannot say for sure.
How does this happen? Apparently, players manage to take loot from the warm-up phase before a round. Normally, anything they pick up there should be reset upon entering the plane.
However, there is apparently a bug that allows the loading time for the Battle Royale to be exploited. This only works for armor plates and money. Weapons and ammunition get removed again.
Since this is likely an exploitation of a bug, we will not explain exactly how players manage this. MeinMMO also advises everyone not to replicate this. You risk getting your account banned. Cheaters are a significant problem in Warzone and are so disliked by many players that they even disable crossplay.
Unfair Advantage – Especially at the Start
With the extra armor plate, players have the advantage of running less risk of being killed immediately, especially at the beginning of the game. They can engage in a fight early on, for example at the most popular and best landing spots, and eliminate opponents with the pistol because these can withstand less.
Additionally, the money is an advantage to quickly acquire the most important items in Warzone or to buy cheaper items quickly while others still have to loot. The lead is not great, but in the first minutes of a round, it could mean crucial seconds.
So far, there has been no response from the developers. We cannot say for sure when and if the bug will be fixed. Currently, many players are still speculating about the start of Season 4 after the leak was wrong, and whether this currently has priority for the developers.
Another player came up with a minor change for Warzone that would give all players a huge advantage. A small detail in the HUD could ensure that team play in Battle Royale works better and coordination could even function better without voice chat.
