Call of Duty: Warzone is richer for a nasty glitch. In a Twitch stream by Warzone pro Rhys “Rated” Price, the player can see his opponents through the walls – but without any cheat programs.
What is going on? Call of Duty: Warzone has had a cheating problem for a while now. Unfair players have been overwhelming the battle royale with their aim bots and wallhacks, creating a queasy feeling in the stomach when a kill doesn’t look quite clean.
Even pro players and Twitch streamers are no longer safe from cheating accusations. For some accusers, even 5 cameras are not enough to prove innocence. A new glitch could further damage trust, as the bug looks eerily similar to a wallhack.
Wallhack glitch shows players through walls without cheats
What does it look like? In a battle royale trio, Rated flew towards the banana houses. In his glowing unicorn heli, he noticed a strange display beneath him and realized too late that it was the red outline of an enemy who was in the house below him. Rated shared a clip of the action from Twitter:
Just before the clip starts, Rated stares at the running outline with his Kar 98k for several seconds and then almost panicked asks, “Wait, what?” He then repeatedly shouts, “Damn, I’m cheating!!!” Rated continues to play, but he is visibly confused at first about what is happening on his screen.
This even happened again in the same match:
Also this time, Rated is overwhelmed by the situation at first and doesn’t quite know what is happening to him. He and his team then joke about it – but you can feel that Rated is briefly scared that they might actually consider him a cheater with these images.
How can this happen? It’s certainly not certain, but it seems to be related to the Gulag. This red outline is usually seen just before the start of the respawn duel. Both contenders see their opponents through all walls before the mini-match, but once the duel starts, the outline should actually disappear.
In Rated’s match that seems to be different. His earlier visit to the Gulag also went somehow strange:
No timer counts down to the match start and Rated went back into the match directly as the winner. This is completely normal if there is no opponent in the Gulag. But Rated can briefly see the enemy through the walls: something is not right.
It’s possible that the glitch is related to this Gulag error. The bug is also not limited to Rated. His teammates confirm that they can also see the outline of the enemy.
Will this stay? The bug seems to occur quite limited at the moment, and there is currently no response from the developers about it. However, it looks like the glitch could hit us all – which could especially be a problem for streamers.
The Warzone creators at Raven Software will take care of it once the glitch appears on the developer radar.
No one is currently safe from cheating accusations and such a wallhack glitch comes at a bad time – but when does a glitch ever happen at the right time.
Fortunately, there are enough players who give their all in Warzone without cheats and impress with special performances. Currently, a player with only one arm is getting celebrated for aiming better with his chin than many with their thumbs.
