Season 6 of Call of Duty: Warzone shook up the meta with its two broken OP weapons. After the nerf of the overperformers, MeinMMO shows you the tier list of the battle royale.
How did you compile the list? In this list, you will find all the weapons that play a role in Warzone and deliver the best performance. We categorize the best weapons in Warzone into 3 tiers:
- S-Tier: The meta weapons with the best mix of stability and damage.
- A-Tier: Weapons that either provide strong alternatives to S-Tier or are specialists.
- B-Tier: These guns are somewhat lagging behind due to more popular alternatives, but they still belong to the best weapons.
To compile the list, we watched many videos and reports from Warzone players and incorporated our own experience. You can find the most important sources at the bottom of the article.
Update October 13: Currently, we have a survey running on MeinMMO – Which weapon is the best for you in Warzone. Check it out, vote, and let us know your opinion.

S-Tier – Always worth considering
- Kilo 141
- Grau 5.56
- M4A1
- MP5
In Warzone, you often engage in battles at longer ranges than in regular multiplayer. Therefore, you’ll find stable weapons in this category that can secure kills even at long distances. Three very similar assault rifles are particularly strong and popular here – all three share a damage profile and differ in rate of fire and handling:
- Grau 5.56 – very stable, low damage
- Kilo 141 – not quite as stable, but more damage
- M4A1 – slightly less stable, but again more damage
Depending on how much recoil you’re willing to accept, choose one of these assault rifles for your all-around weapons. In A-Tier, you’ll find more damage, but the recoil will increase. For Warzone, these three are the optimal choice if you want to hit reliably and damage is secondary for you.
The fourth weapon is the MP5. Whether as a secondary to a sniper rifle or a close combat alternative alongside your all-around weapons – the MP5 stands by you. It fits into S-Tier because it takes down enemies reliably and quickly at both short and medium range. Also one of the best weapons in Modern Warfare multiplayer.

A-Tier – Strong Alternative & Specialists
- R9-0 with Dragon’s Breath
- HDR
- SP-R 208
- CR-56 AMAX
- RAM-7
- Bruen Mk9
- MP7
- FAL
A-Tier gathers the specialists among the weapons and alternatives to S-Tier.
Let’s start with the R9-0 with Dragon’s Breath. This thing slams fire rounds into your enemies and leaves them scorched after just 2 quick hits. Up to 8.5 meters, this is the best weapon, taking down enemies with even inaccurate shots in less than 200 milliseconds – no matter how thick the enemy’s armor is.
Next up are the sniper rifles. Due to the large area of Warzone, snipers are a popular class, and since they can take down enemies with just one headshot, they are also incredibly strong. Among the current top rifles are the purebred sniper rifle HDR and the new DMR SP-R 208. The HDR shines with excellent target stability and high bullet speed. The SP-R, on the other hand, gets into aim more quickly and allows for faster shots. However, headshots with the SP-R are very important, which requires a lot of practice and skill.
A-Tier is also home to three all-round weapons. The Bruen Mk9 was once the overpowered weapon in Warzone but got nerfed and now ranks lower. It is still very stable but falls short on damage. On the other hand, the AMAX and RAM-7 shine with their damage but need to be tamed. If you can handle the two damage monsters, you will always have an advantage over the S-Tier all-rounders – but the recoil is noticeably higher than with a Grau or Kilo.
As alternative secondary weapons, the MP7 and FAL can still make their mark. The submachine gun MP7 is the only SMG on the 10 most stable weapons in Warzone, can take a 60-round magazine, and allows for easy kills at short and medium range. While it can’t compete with the damage of the MP5, this weapon rewards you with pleasant recoil behavior. The FAL, on the other hand, deals outstanding damage but plays quite uniquely as a semi-automatic rifle. Still a strong choice for kills at short to medium distance.

B-Tier – Still strong, but with better alternatives
- AS VAL
- AUG
- AX-50
- Kar 98k
- Origin
- FiNN LMG
- PKM
- M13
The following weapons are also among the best guns in Warzone and with their use, you can keep up with the others. However, the guns in higher tiers are considered somewhat better, but not by much. Little details make the difference.
The new AS VAL is considered the only assault rifle in the list rather as a secondary weapon. This thing works very well as an SMG replacement because it deals outstanding damage at short to medium ranges. A disadvantage is that you have only a small magazine, which is why the weapon does not rank higher. As a third SMG, the AUG barely holds its place in the list. Although it is a bit wobbly, it deals good damage and has acceptable range.
For one-shot sniper rifles, you can also rely on the Kar 98k and AX-50. If you feel more comfortable with these weapons than with the A-Tier alternatives or have simply become more accustomed to them, you can also reach your targets with these two. In detail, HDR and SP-R 208 are better, but the differences are marginal and the two B-Tier weapons are also a good choice.
In close combat, the Origin still performs well. Unlike the R9-0, you can quickly fire all bullets in the magazine and take down enemies at close ranges in record time. It plays a bit easier than the R9-0 with Dragon’s Breath, but it also doesn’t quite achieve the damage of the fire weapon.
Lastly, there are a few all-around weapons on the list. One would be the FiNN LMG and the M13. Both are extremely accurate, and you can hit moving targets with ease. However, the FiNN is slow and plays a bit sluggishly. In contrast, the M13 causes relatively low damage and uses a lot of ammo due to its high fire rate. The PKM hits hard but requires more corrections while firing, as you feel the recoil significantly.

Bonus – The 725 with Slug Rounds
As a little extra, check out the 725 with slug ammunition. The slugs were recently buffed and now offer significantly more range and with the 725 even one-shot kills when you land a headshot. On Twitter, the user “@Elgoomtaf” posted a video showing what is currently possible with the part:
Definitely worth a try and really strong. Unfortunately, the 725 shotgun only has a two-round magazine, but what you can do with those two looks really fun.
The right weapon gets you halfway in Warzone; the rest is a good strategy. Each round plays out differently, but if you set aside a guide, you’ll play more successfully. Here you can find the strategy guide from the most successful Warzone player ever.
