Perks / Extras are part of every loadout in Call of Duty: Warzone, just like a nice stable weapon. 5 of them are absolutely standard in Battle Royale – MeinMMO shows the most popular Perks and how they can support you.
When you create a loadout for Call of Duty: Warzone, you have a few tough decisions to make:
- Which of the best weapons of Warzone should I bring?
- How do I use my primary grenade?
- Heartbeat as a tactical item … maybe rather stun or flash grenade?
- What extra bonuses do I want from the Perks?
This section is about selecting the Perks (in German Extras). These mostly passive bonuses give you an advantage in certain situations, which can sometimes be decisive for the game. MeinMMO presents the most popular ones and shows how they can help you in Battle Royale.
Not much choice when it comes to Warzone Perks
Which are the most popular Perks? In Warzone, your selection of worthwhile extras is not very large. Many of the Perks have developed over years in the CoD franchise and are more suited for multiplayer mode. And although some bring special attributes after Verdansk, the selection for many soldiers is limited to a few extras.
These 5 are found in most loadouts and can provide a significant advantage in Warzone:
- Eager
- Overkill
- Ghost
- KRD
- Cold-Blooded
The popularity of these extras is based on their wide range of applications. Each of these bonuses can often help you in a match, while most others offer limited advantages that only help in very specific situations. According to the loadout site lootshare.io, these are the most popular Perks that most players build their loadouts around.
The best Perks often provide advantages in matches
What does Eager bring? The Perk is part of the yellow extras and gives you a boost to weapon switching speed. Additionally, you use some equipment faster, such as Claymore mines or decoy grenades.
While Eager doesn’t provide an outstanding bonus, it wins over many soldiers in the yellow category because the competition is too specific or unnecessary. In Warzone, you constantly switch weapons – whether running to switch to the faster weapon or in a firefight when your magazine runs out of bullets.
Scout and Tracker also offer very good opportunities, but in practice, these bonuses are just too rarely useful.
What does Overkill bring? If you want to fill both weapon slots with your high-powered loadout guns right from the first supply drop you grab in the match, the red Perk Overkill is the choice.
Without this Perk, you can only take one rocket launcher, pistol, or melee weapon alongside your primary weapon. Overkill is popular because with your secondary weapon, you don’t have to rely on the loot weapons of Warzone.
Sounds like a great deal, right? It is basically, if it weren’t for Ghost.
What does Ghost bring? With this red extra, you protect yourself from reconnaissance drones and heartbeat sensors. A strong bonus that gives you a significant advantage over teams that enter the fight without the stealth extra. However, your protection temporarily ceases when you fire a weapon.
If you don’t want to do without Overkill, then definitely plan for two supply boxes in each match. Here, tactics where you complete a few contracts right at the start, get a loadout with Overkill first, and then grab a Ghost loadout with the first free package or the other way around are worthwhile. However, always ensure that you benefit from Ghost in the endgame.
What does KRD bring? The blue extra is the anti-explosive perk. Grenades, mines, or rocket launcher explosions deal only a maximum of 80 damage to you, and in general, explosive damage is reduced against you. However, direct hits from rocket launchers will still take you out – those are guaranteed one-hits. How KRD works in detail can be found here.
What does Cold-Blooded bring? In contrast to KRD, this is also a blue Perk. The most important function: If someone observes you through a thermal scope, you no longer shine like a decorated Christmas tree.
However, the utility of Cold-Blooded directly depends on the usage rate of thermal scopes – and that has been constantly decreasing since the release of Warzone. However, explosions happen constantly in Warzone, which is why many players now prefer KRD.
Strong alternatives that help you less frequently
What else is strong? Flexibility is one of the most important traits in Battle Royale, and that’s why the 5 Perks above are also the most popular and strongest in Warzone, as they provide an advantage most frequently. However, there are a few others that you should consider, as they are also strong and work very well in certain situations:
- Revive (yellow) – 25% faster resurrection
- Scout (yellow) – See enemy mines through walls and hack them at close range
- Tracker (yellow) – You see enemy footprints for a few seconds
At the end of a Battle Royale, only one team can claim the trophy. However, there are many ways to victory, and it helps to know how to best support your playstyle with the available equipment. If you like shotguns, try the fire setup of the R9-0. That thing annihilates opponents in record time.
