The Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone is well received by many. The streamer shroud plays it almost around the clock. However, he sees balance issues that, in his view, are unsolvable.
What does shroud say? Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, who has found his home on the streaming platform Mixer, talked about the problems of the Battle Royale Warzone in a video. He claims that the game will never be balanced.
He cites as a reason that Warzone belongs to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and that any balance changes would always have to include all other game modes.
However, he is not bothered by this, as he reveals here (for mobile users: The discussion starts at minute 3:37):
“One must accept Call of Duty as it is”
What are the problems of Warzone? In the livestream, shroud is asked how he rates the “time to kill” in Warzone. The streamer responds that it is really fast. For him, this is not surprising:
Is the TTK too high? I mean, yes it is. It is really, really fast … but that is the problem. You cannot balance it.
It is almost impossible to balance the TTK in Call of Duty because its focus is on uniting all aspects of the game.
Multiplayer, Battle Royale, and all the other modes are interconnected. The weapons are also interconnected. That makes it difficult to balance everything, but that is just Call of Duty, right?
In addition to Warzone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare also includes several multiplayer modes, a story mode, and the “Spec Ops” missions.
How dramatic is the balance? shroud does not see any really big balance problems in the weapons of Warzone. For him, everything is as usual:
Shotguns will generally win at close range, SMGs dominate overall, assault rifles are just well-balanced, and snipers simply kill.
One has to accept it for what it is. That is pretty much what you do in every Call of Duty game.
Warzone is more impressive than Apex Legends
What else does shroud say about Warzone? In another video the streamer speaks very positively about the Battle Royale. He praises it as the best Call of Duty so far. He is particularly impressed by the technical side:
The game is impressive, solely from a development standpoint. What they have achieved is quite crazy.
[It runs better than Apex Legends with] four times the player count, four times the loot, the chaos and the map size. Everything is impressive.
With this positive opinion, the streamer is not alone:
- Philipp Hansen, actually our Destiny 2 author, feels comfortable in the Warzone.
- Also many professionals are currently playing Warzone and setting crazy records.
By the way, Warzone may continue in the new CoD 2020: CoD Black Ops 2020: New details leaked about campaigns, zombies, and multiplayer
