In Call of Duty: Warzone, you could soon be involved in even bigger battles than before. A leak within the game has now revealed 3 new modes that might be coming to the game soon.
What was that leak? Last weekend, Call of Duty: Warzone had a Free Weekend, during which Free2Play players could try out some multiplayer modes.
Right at the start on Friday, Warzone showed you an info screen that provided details about the available modes. Also, the obligatory note on how great the campaign, the co-op mode SpecOps, and the multiplayer are. @DissolvexD shows the image on Twitter:
The short display revealed even more to attentive soldiers. In the left image, you can see the Warzone menu in the background with a total of 4 game modes. 3 of them have not been available in the battle royale before, and speculation now starts that these modes could soon make it into the game.
200-Player and Juggernaut Mode “leaked” – What’s coming to Warzone?
What modes could come? The “leak” shows 3 new modes:
- BR 200
- Plunder 200
- BR Juggernaut
The names directly suggest an adjusted number of players. So far, the battle royale starts with 150 people, and the mid-game on the large map can get a bit boring.
The new in-match events will make this phase a bit more exciting. Especially the “Jailbreak” brings action to Verdansk. With 200 players, the start and the middle of the game are likely to gain new dynamics and lead to more encounters with other soldiers. And to new kill records.
How likely is that? The probability that you will soon be able to play one of the 3 modes is quite high. In an interview in early March, the developers already confirmed that they have tested 200-player matches on their test servers. Matches with fewer players would also be possible.
Currently, there is even a 100-man mode in Warzone, the 50vs50 Rumble, which came into the game with the major update 1.22. However, this is a team deathmatch mode that has little in common with a battle royale.
The Juggernaut mode has already been officially confirmed. Along with the roadmap for Season 4, the developers provided information about a warzone with the Juggernaut suits. It is almost certain that during the current season you will eventually be running across the map as a “Jugger”.
How do the modes work? Not much imagination is needed for 200-player modes. These will most likely be slightly adjusted versions of the current BR and Plunder modes, where 200 instead of 150 players will face off against each other.
With the Juggernaut mode, it looks different. There was already a lot of speculation in advance about how this could look. Now we know:
- The mode is called “Juggernaut Royale”, but the number of players is still unknown
- It plays out like a BR, but there are 3 supply crates with Juggernaut suits on the map
- The suits can be collected and provide a lot of armor, a mini-gun, and the Jugger radio
- As a Jugger, you are slower but can drive vehicles and climb ladders
- Instead of a parachute, you have no fall damage and cause environmental damage in the area where you land
- If a Jugger goes to the Gulag, the suit returns as a new supply crate
- So there will always be 3 suits on the map, allowing teams in the endgame to possibly fight for victory in a Jugger battle
With new modes and events, Warzone aims to remain exciting and provide fun for its players for a long time. According to one developer, they are also taking a little inspiration from Fortnite. The colorful and childish battle royale has been successful for a long time, and CoD has taken a leaf out of its book, but is directing its events towards adult players.
Which mode is at the top of your wish list? I would really like a night mode.
