In Call of Duty: Warzone a new map is launching. A new trailer now shows scenes of the map where players can soon fight.
Update April 23: The new map is online. Here you will find 10 important changes from Verdansk ’84.
This is happening in Warzone: After the event “The Destruction of Verdansk – Part 1” started yesterday on April 21, and the map was destroyed in a nuclear explosion, players are waiting for the new map for the Battle Royale. Currently, you can only play on Rebirth Island before the final phase of the event starts today at 21:00. However, a new trailer has already gone online that aims to hype the new season with loud rock music, many guest appearances, and plenty of explosions. An unfinished version of it was leaked some time ago. You can see the new version here:
New trailer shows small map snippets
This is shown in the trailer: The trailer is themed “Squad up the World” and announces that you should dive into “Verdansk 84” today. In the trailer, the guest appearances are clearly in the foreground, but you can also spot locations that are likely to find a place on the new map between the battles.
The following locations are visible:
- A large signal station is visible in the trailer. It reminds of a location from one of the possible final missions from the Cold War campaign.
- The stadium is shown in the trailer, but looks significantly smaller at first glance. Additionally, a huge crane looms over the stadium roof, where battles are also fought in the trailer.
- Opposite a signal station, a large bridge is visible. Behind it, a landscape reminiscent of the classic Black Ops map “Summit” can be seen.
- Quarry in the north appears unchanged.
- The Gulag in the south is still visible and looks as usual from the outside.
- Downtown looks comparatively unchanged. There are no huge skyscrapers visible anymore, but there are still taller buildings in the trailer.
Leakers show first snippets: Some players were able to venture onto a part of the new map with the help of private matches. Some snippets of the map have already been shared on YouTube, as seen here in the video by “Mayzomatic”:
In the gameplay video, the YouTuber was already able to move towards the stadium. In Downtown, buildings can be seen that are currently being rebuilt. How the complete map looks will likely be revealed soon – after all, the season event continues this evening.
