The big map Caldera has faced a lot of criticism since its release in December 2021. Call of Duty: Warzone has taken the feedback to heart and is revamping the map generously with Season 4 / 2022. Even Verdansk flashbacks have already been discovered.
How is Caldera changing? On June 22, the new Season 4 in Call of Duty: Warzone starts. The next content cycle will bring a new small map with Fortune’s Keep, but significant changes are also being made to the large map Caldera.
Call of Duty says about this on Twitter:
- New micro-locations and more loot
- Secret underground mercenary vaults
- 50% less vegetation & better visibility
- Many more surprises

How is the map changing? Apart from the brief description of the planned changes, we do not know much about the adjustments yet.
However, attentive users have already discovered a very interesting spot that evokes nostalgic feelings.

The very popular area “Storage Town” from Verdansk is returning and getting its own version on Caldera. Storage Town was known on the old map for a lot of action, loot, and exciting fights. The area will then be found to the east on Caldera.
What do players say about it? As usual, dissatisfied players express their wishes for updates under the tweet (via twitter.com). However, when commentators talk about the map adjustments, the mood is positive. Many well-known players and content creators are commenting on the subject:

- @CouRageJD – Content creator: “Yes! 50% less vegetation is soooo good. I asked for that when I got to test the map for the first time a year ago. Great.”

Warzone had major issues with bugs early in the year, and the new large map was not well received by many fans. But since Season 2 / 2022, things have been improving – there have been many updates, innovations, and improvements to the free battle royale.
