With the start of Season 3, Call of Duty: Warzone received some major adjustments. The new version of Verdansk has been introduced, featuring special lighting effects. However, not everyone is satisfied with these effects, prompting the developers to respond.
What exactly happened? With the new map in Warzone, new colors and light effects were introduced at the end of April. Shortly after the release, some players began to complain mainly about the lighting:
- In some situations, the sun is particularly glaring and restricts visibility.
- In other instances, the map appears too dark, which is especially annoying if one has previously adjusted their settings to the glaring light.
Some players even reported that the glaring light caused headaches.
What has happened now? Players also complained about this issue in a survey that Activision recently initiated. The developers at Raven Software have now acknowledged the problem and promised a fix.

What does Raven Software say exactly? In a series of tweets, the developers addressed the survey results and promised some changes.
In one tweet, they said: “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We want our players to feel comfortable while playing Warzone. We have been closely monitoring the [lighting] issue and plan to address it in an upcoming update.”
They also shared the complete quote they received in the survey. The player who provided the feedback mentioned that he was getting headaches from the lighting.
What other updates are planned? In the series of tweets, further feedback from players was addressed:
- The team is working on “visual hearing” capabilities that would especially help deaf players.
- They are working on improving the in-game text chat.
When will the adjustments be made? Raven Software has not provided a date for the mentioned changes. However, a new update in CoD Warzone is scheduled for this evening, May 6. It is quite possible that we may see an initial change already.
Update May 7: On 06.05., there was indeed an update – but only for Black Ops Cold War. However, this introduced the new weapon CARV.2 to the game, which you can also use in Warzone.
