With the Plunder mode, Call of Duty: Warzone offers a mode that focuses on hunting cash instead of constantly gathering kills. This can be really nice, but especially the end of the match is a real nightmare.
What is Plunder? In Call of Duty: Warzone, you currently have basically 3 different options to approach the game:
- You start the regular Battle Royale in different team sizes
- On Rebirth Island, you fight in a smaller area for victory
- In Plunder mode, you hunt cash instead of enemies
The special feature of the Plunder mode: At the end of a match, there are often still dozens of soldiers in the game. Because unlike in the BR modes, there is a respawn that brings you back to the map after a death. This brings action, but it also has unpleasant consequences when the match is over.
Voice chat in Plunder mode is the chat hell on earth
Why is the end a nightmare? After the rankings are announced, you get to see your point distribution and during this time Warzone throws you into a large voice chat with all players in the match.
What sounds logical and pretty cool at first is absolute chaos in practice. Many have something to say or want to be heard no matter what. It’s often an incomprehensible mix of frustration, insults, and random noises. This can become a problem especially for streamers, but it’s also annoying without a live broadcast.
The following English YouTube video shows a good example of this chat hell:
Additionally, it takes a while for the game to bring you back to your lobby. If you want to finish the match normally and play with the in-game chat, you have to endure this auditory annoyance until the very end – almost until your ears bleed.
Plunder is a strong mode for leveling weapons and improving
What makes Plunder good? Aside from the nasty chat at the end of a round, the Plunder mode is a good change from the regular Battle Royale. You can take it much more relaxed here, level your weapons, get to know the large Warzone map, and hone your skills.
The thrill of Battle Royale is somewhat lost in the Plunder mode, but it still offers exciting battles with enemies who fall back into your area from the sky shortly after a death.
The game mode itself can also be quite interesting when you engage with it. You are always on the move with your own loadout and grab as many missions, loot boxes, and kills as possible to be the first to reach one million dollars.
This is a whole different way to enjoy the Warzone that you should try when the Battle Royale gets annoying again. Tactics to help you safely and strongly into the endgame of Warzone will help as well.
