In the Warzone of Call of Duty, there are inconsistencies and issues with melee combat. Some players are calling for changes, as melee attacks are sometimes more effective than weapons.
What is happening in the Warzone? Even though some players are currently busy in the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the popular and very successful battle royale Warzone continues to be played by many.
And there will be some changes with the integration of Cold War and the launch of the first joint season. Currently, some players are encountering a problem that they hope will soon change – namely the melee attacks.
What is the problem with melee attacks? This problem is currently being actively discussed in the community. In short: melee attacks are inconsistent and sometimes overpowering compared to other weapons. The balance simply doesn’t seem right, according to many players.
In direct confrontation, even when armed with an assault rifle, one can quickly find oneself at a disadvantage. Here’s one of the currently most prominent examples on Reddit – and this is not an isolated case:
Some melee weapons like the Cali Sticks or the Kodachi swords would sometimes only need one hit at full health and armor; the range of melee attacks is sometimes extreme, according to comments and reports.
What do the players say? Calls for nerfs or changes to melee attacks and weapons are therefore rising. Players are urging the developers to take a closer look at the whole situation. Because it is also not the first time that such problems occur.
The balance simply often doesn’t seem right when you pump half a magazine into the enemy and he takes you out with just one hit while at full health and maximum armor – that’s the general sentiment.
What do the developers say? So far, there has been no response from the developers. However, this does not stop players from posting their own solution proposals.
One suggestion, among others, is that for every bullet hit, the player’s melee attack would be slightly weakened. This way, one would still be fit at the start, but if one has taken some damage, then they would be correspondingly weaker in melee combat.
It remains to be seen whether the developers can address this issue before the start of the new season, the first joint one of Cold War and Warzone. They have a bit more time now, as the start of Season One of Black Ops Cold War has now been delayed by a few days: CoD Cold War delays Season 1 – teasing a new Warzone map
How about you? Have you also experienced this problem? Or can you not understand all the fuss at all?
