CoD Warzone has a new, fun game mode. But since this does nothing against AFK players, others can benefit greatly from it. Find out here how a player earned a lot of points quickly and easily for new camos.
What kind of mode is it? The new game mode “Caldera Clash” has arrived in the Warzone with Season 2. It resembles a large round of team deathmatch. 48 players per team shoot each other on the Pacific map. There are respawns and a lot of action.
What is the problem? However, the Clash mode lacks an important feature that many other shooters have. Namely, an AFK kicker. This means that players who are not actively playing can remain in the game indefinitely. Their characters then just stand around like wooden dolls and do nothing. Nevertheless, they receive a minimum of points for mere participation at the end. Even more if their team actually somehow won.
Therefore, some players even exploit this and just stay in the game overnight while they go to sleep in real life. The game continues and in the end, they have “earned” a large pile of points.
But this already dubious approach fosters other tricks that are even bolder.
Player boldly farms players who cannot defend themselves
How can this be exploited? Since the AFK players are still legitimate targets in the game, one player and reddit user thought “I’ll take them” and sneaked into the enemy spawn with a sniper rifle. There stood plenty of AFK teammates. He was able to enjoy taking them out one by one with headshots.
He did this until he eventually got caught. But thanks to the field upgrade “Tactical Insertion”, he was able to set his respawn point back to that location and keep farming the AFK players. In the end, he had 104 kills and various camo skins unlocked for his weapon. Thanks to the double XP event, it was even more worthwhile.
Is that even allowed? Since the AFK players are legitimate targets, there is initially nothing wrong with taking them out. Their existence is rather due to a missing feature. Nevertheless, it is not exactly heroic to shoot opponents who are not able to defend themselves.
The reactions on reddit are mixed as well. Some players want to know how to replicate this, while others find the entire mode strange at the moment, as so many players are trying to unlock achievements without much effort. That is certainly not the intention of the new mode as planned by the developers.
What do you think of the method of farming AFK players to quickly unlock skins? Is it okay or just lazy? Let us know in the comments!
