In Call of Duty: Warzone a player eliminated an entire team of campers through clever use of an airstrike. However, none of his victims died from the airstrike.
What is it about? In Call of Duty: Warzone, so-called “Rooftop Campers” are an annoying nuisance. These are players who barricade themselves on a roof and are difficult to dislodge. In sniper duels, their height advantage usually gives them better visibility, and storming the roof from inside can also be dangerous.
Only airstrikes can reliably drive them off the roof, but then they just huddle inside, and not much is gained. However, with some creativity and cleverness, you can get rid of the campers optimally. A player has impressively demonstrated how this can be done.
Airstrike is just a deception
This is what happened: The Warzone player and reddit user ESDROS faced an entire squad in Warzone that had comfortably barricaded themselves on a roof. They were shooting at anything that moved.
ESDROS had no good way to shoot the annoying campers off the roof, so he risked storming the building and even made it inside amidst the chaos. However, to reach the roof, he would have had to climb a ladder, and the chance of being caught by one of the campers there would have been high.
So ESDROS probably thought, “If I can’t get to them, they have to come to me.” But how do you quickly bring campers from the roof into the building? The answer is of course: A killstreak in the form of an airstrike! And coincidentally, ESDROS had one. He simply dropped it somewhere nearby and hoped that the campers would panic.
How one player eliminates an entire team: ESDROS’ hope was that the campers would hide from the airstrike and all come down the ladder. And this is exactly what happened as soon as the airstrike was announced.
One by one, the enemies slid down the ladder, and ESDROS only had to pull the trigger at the right moment. Soon after, the entire enemy team lay dead on the ground. Their faces surely marked by endless confusion over their sudden death.
ESDROS received numerous achievements and awards for this cool action. After all, it’s not every day that one eliminates an entire squad in seconds. Ironically, this trick is old, but according to ESDROS on reddit, people still fall for it.
Don’t make the same mistake: So the next time the alarm for an airstrike goes off, consider whether the airstrike is actually dangerous to you and don’t rely on your escape path being safe.
By the way, another player pulled off an even bolder action in Call of Duty: Warzone. He simply stole a helicopter while it was still flying. How you perform this crazy stunt and what happens next, you can find out in our article on the brazen helicopter theft in Call of Duty: Warzone.
