On the evening of October 23, there was a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone, which not only refreshed the playlist but also removed some features. This will change over the weekend.
What is the update about? Currently, the Halloween event “The Haunting of Verdansk” is in full swing for CoD Modern Warfare and the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone.
In a spooky atmosphere, the goal is to find special event crates and thus snag some special loot. However, you should leave the scarecrows alone.
Halloween was introduced through a playlist update last Tuesday, and there was a further new update on the evening of October 23.
This is what has changed over the weekend
2 features are being removed: Initially, the update removed 2 gameplay elements from the game:
- on the one hand, the helicopters in Verdansk – but only in the night version of battle royale
- on the other hand, the pumpkin heads that have been active in the regular multiplayer and as part of the juggernaut suit in Warzone since the start of the Halloween event
The reason remains unknown. Infinity Ward has not commented on the helicopters. However, the helis have been removed from Warzone before. At that time, it was possible to glitch under the map and take out unsuspecting players from there. Is this happening again?
Regarding the pumpkin heads, it is only mentioned that a bug was the reason for their removal. These pumpkin heads were automatically available in multiplayer after 3 kills without dying. After 10 kills, the pumpkin head would start to burn. In Warzone, the juggernaut suit automatically had a burning head.
However, even if a bug seems to be the cause of the feature’s removal: some players had complained about the pumpkin heads – especially the burning ones. This made one a too easy target.
This is how the playlist is changing: The update also brought 3 fresh modes for Warzone. So there are now besides battle royale and zombie royale also the following active:
- Cash Grab: Candy Collector
- BR Solo Survivor
- Juggourdnaut Royale
Despite the new name, Juggourdnaut Royale is essentially the same as the known Juggernaut Royale. Also, BR Solo Survivor and Candy Collector are basically Halloween renamed versions of the standard modes.
