The developers of Raven Software are adjusting the weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone and the FARA 83, which is an absolute favorite, is affected. What do the new patch notes bring?

When is the update coming? As developer Raven Software announced via Twitter, the update will be available shortly. In the patch notes, it will be listed under “June 30,” so it should be active in your game today.
The update mainly deals with balancing the weapons in Season 4 of CoD Warzone. In addition to three direct weapon adjustments, several attachments will also be slightly modified.

Update on June 30 nerfs the FARA 83
This is changing for the FARA 83: The FARA 83 has established itself near the top of the meta in CoD Warzone since the start of Season 4 and is currently, according to data from “wzranked”, the most popular weapon in Battle Royale (via wzranked.com).
The strong FARA 83 impresses with good stability at high damage at all ranges. However, there were already concerns that the rifle might get nerfed.
A nerf is now on the way: According to the patch notes, the recoil of the FARA 83 is being “slightly” increased. The weapon is expected to be a bit less accurate in the future. How exactly the deviation will ultimately look in the game remains to be seen.
These weapons will also be adjusted: In addition to the FARA 83, two other weapons will be affected.
- The C58 is one of the new weapons of Season 4. The recoil of this assault rifle will also be slightly increased.
- Additionally, the Nail Gun will be nerfed. This SMG was particularly strong in close combat, a nerf had already been indicated. Its first damage range will now be reduced by 39 %. The developers explain that its effective range currently exceeds that of shotguns too much, and that one could take down opponents just as quickly or even faster while keeping twice the distance.
Update changes attachments: In addition to the weapons, the new update also targets several attachments – specifically, barrels. Here you can see all the changes:
- The vertical recoil control of the Ranger barrel for assault rifles has been reduced from 15 % to 10 %. According to the patch notes, the AK-47 and XM4 are excluded.
- For the Takedown (Access) for assault rifles, the horizontal recoil control is changing from 15 % to 10 %.
- For the third barrel (Heavy Enhanced / Match Grade / VDV Enhanced) for LMGs and assault rifles, both vertical and horizontal recoil control will be reduced from 7.5 % to 5 %.
- Similar changes apply to Spec Ops / Spetsnaz RPK / CMV Military: Here, vertical and horizontal recoil control will be reduced from 15 % to 10 %.
With these adjustments, the developers, according to the patch notes, aim to ensure that players’ mastery of a weapon leads to more success – and is less favored by recoil control. They also want to keep an eye on this issue in the future.
Meanwhile, another weapon has received a hefty buff: The Milano 821 was not really a favorite, but is now one of the top weapons.
