The LMG Bren has long been considered the best range weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone – despite some nerfs and “repairs”. The Warzone professional “IceManIsaac” has now presented a setup that should make all previous weaknesses forgettable.
What’s going on?
- With the introduction of the new map Caldera, the Vanguard weapons took over the meta in Call of Duty: Warzone
- Right at the forefront: the LMG Bren – although also because the weapon was a bit broken
- After some nerfs and repairs, the Bren is slightly weaker, but with the right setups, it is still a powerful companion
CoD Warzone: Bren Setup after the Nerfs
Why is the Bren so strong? LMGs are slow behemoths with low mobility. The weapons need to offer something special to be convincing.
For example, the Bruen Mk9 from CoD MW. The weapon was very dominant in Warzone for a while because it provided a mobile assault rifle magazine, high range, and low recoil.
The Bren is again such a case. The damage is very high, it can be controlled very well, and due to broken barrel attachments, the LMG had “infinite” range for a long time – losing no damage over distance.
What has been nerfed so far? So far, only the broken barrel attachments have been fixed, and there has been a weakening of damage to limbs.
The important base damage to chest and stomach has not yet suffered, and in terms of control, the Bren remains an extremely strong and reliable option at range.
This keeps the LMG one of the best weapons in the game – and even the best weapon at range for those who are not bothered by limited mobility.
The Warzone professional “IceManIsaac” has revisited the popular rifle after the nerfs and changes of the last weeks and developed a new setup that, according to him, makes the weapon “better than ever”.

What makes the setup strong? You maximize range and benefit from high damage up to 45 meters.
The time-to-kill is 600 milliseconds (250 health points) and then increases to 700 milliseconds. Strong values for a range weapon at the level of the AK-47 from Cold War. However, it can not be controlled nearly as well.
In comparison to previous meta setups for the Bren, you also have a larger magazine that can be relatively quickly reloaded for 100 rounds. Also, the vertical magazine no longer interferes when aiming.
As a disadvantage, the somewhat sluggish LMG mobility can be noted. If that doesn’t bother you, then the Bren still rocks as a range weapon.

With the exception of a small breakout of the broken PPSh at the beginning of Season 2, the weapon meta has remained suspiciously stable since the introduction of Caldera.
On one hand, this is good – you can play your favorite weapons for a long time and fully master their quirks.
On the other hand, this leads to an unfair weapon meta: players who handle the weapons better have an advantage.
