For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and CoD Warzone, a new small patch has been deployed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. However, this is not the expected playlist update, but rather some bug fixes.
What’s in the patch? The patch notes for the small update have been posted by the official Twitter account of the developers. And they are concise:
- the “Border War” skin and the bio for D-Day have been renamed. The skin recently caused some controversy.
- an exploit where players could start with a weapon in Warzone has been fixed
- a bug with the new “Rytec AMR” sniper rifle has been fixed, where shots were hitting above the crosshair in the scope.

The patch addresses only the mentioned contents and did not bring a new playlist at first. The new playlist was released later in the evening.
Unfair weapon exploit fixed
What was this exploit? The weapon exploit allowed players to take a weapon from the warming phase into the game. They chose one of the weapons from the loadouts assigned to them at the start and then dropped it.
Although it required extremely good timing, with a little practice, players could land directly on a weapon they wanted in every round, which is usually much stronger than the initial ground loot you typically find.
The exploit took advantage of a bug that previously allowed players to start with money and armor in Warzone. With today’s patch, on July 14, it has been fixed according to the developers.
Players are now demanding that Infinity Ward take stronger action against cheaters. This is a persistent issue that every online shooter constantly has to deal with. Warzone is currently plagued by some bugs, that let unarmed helicopters kill your team out of nowhere.
