The new AS VAL is controversial in Season 6 of Call of Duty Warzone. It causes nasty wallbangs. Now developer Infinity Ward is commenting on the weapon.
Here is the situation with the AS VAL: The assault rifle was introduced in Season 6 into Warzone and the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and has been quickly favored by many players. It is great against campers, but also unfair.
If you have unlocked the AS VAL, you can probably shoot through any wall with the weapon’s armor-piercing rounds and eliminate opponents you can’t even see.
This does not seem to be intended by Infinity Ward, as they have now responded to these problems with the assault rifle.
Infinity Ward promises a soon update
This is what Infinity Ward says now: The developers have a Trello board, where they regularly list known bugs and provide updates on their status.
There is now also a card for the AS VAL. It describes the bug as follows: “AS VAL with SSP 10-R ammunition – allows the rounds to penetrate multiple walls”
The bug is listed under “Known issues for multiplayer” and is supposed to be fixed in the next update. The fix is already available and is just being finalized for testing.
What does this mean for the players? The AS VAL will be nerfed in the upcoming update, provided that the fix passes the final tests.
It remains to be seen whether you can still shoot through walls after that. In the Trello board, the developers mention multiple walls. However, there is no mention of single walls.
This is also a powerful weapon: The AS VAL is not the only weapon that was introduced in Season 6. The Sniper rifle SP-R 208 was also introduced and is considered an OP weapon.
Some players are already calling for a nerf there, while others enjoy playing with the new sniper rifle.
