Warzone: Update 1.37 – Patch Notes
What changes does the update bring? The patch notes show some bug fixes and weapon adjustments.
Overall, the developers adjusted the base values of 6 weapons, changed some attachments and scopes of the “Cold War” snipers. Furthermore, there was an adjustment to the “special ammunition” – the field upgrade has been criticized a lot lately.
For many changes, especially with the weapons, the developers also write their motivation. We show you the changes and a glimpse of the thoughts behind the adjustments.
Warzone: Update 1.37 – Balancing adjustments
Balance adjustments weapons
- AK-47u – Rework: Less range and bullet speed, but more mobility and a higher multiplier for neck damage. It is intended to be a submachine gun that rewards risky gameplay with high damage.
- Neck multiplier increased from 1.0 to 1.4
- Sprint-to-fire time increased by 20%
- Bullet speed reduced by 25%
- Maximum damage range reduced by 25%
- PPSh-41 – Buff: Receives a small damage buff and is expected to be significantly stronger, according to the developers.
- Maximum damage increased from 27 to 28
- Maximum damage range increased by 3.8%
- M82 – Rework: Is supposed to differ more from the DMRs – receives a lower rate of fire but more penetration power. Further buffs may follow
- Bullet speed increased by 14%
- Extremities multiplier increased from 0.9 to 1.0
- Rate of fire reduced
- LW3-Tundra – Buff: The developers know that the weapon is strong but suffers from some weaknesses, making it unpopular. A small buff is intended to improve its effectiveness.
- Target stability increased
- Swiss K31 – Buff: The mobile sniper rifle is supposed to perform better in mid to long-range combat and has received important boosts.
- Flinch resistance significantly increased
- ADS speed slightly increased
- Target stability slightly improved
- ZRG 20mm – Buff/Nerf: The ZRG is very powerful and has the largest bullets among firearms in Warzone. The developers write that the weapon should feel that way too.
- Bullet penetration increased
- Chest damage multiplier increased from 1.25 to 1.7
- Stomach damage multiplier increased from 1.15 to 1.25
- Extremities multiplier increased from 0.9 to 1.0
- ADS speed reduced by 4%
- Movement speed reduced by 2%
- Bullet speed reduced by 2%
- Movement while aiming reduced by 1%
What about the special ammunition? The developers mention in the patch notes that they have recognized how strong the field upgrade is. With special ammunition, you get 30 rounds with increased damage in the magazine, which slightly increases your recoil. In a 1vs1 fight, the player with special ammunition often wins.
Raven does not want to remove the field upgrade, and it should continue to be part of Warzone. However, the spawn rate has now been drastically reduced, and the advantage is no longer so widespread but should be something special.
What happened to the attachments? There was a very interesting change to the weapon attachments. The muzzle attachment “suppressor” should become a decent alternative to the Agency or GRU muzzle brake:
- Muzzle attachment suppressor
- Now increases bullet speed instead of reducing the value
- Improves ADS speed
- Improves sprint-to-fire speed
This should particularly benefit close combat weapons that could not utilize some of the values of the Agency/GRU suppressor. However, the suppressors were unrivaled and thus set for the close combat weapons.
In addition, there were adjustments to some laser attachments from Cold War, and the target stability of the airborne/GRU elastic grips has been increased. If you want to look at the adjustments in detail, you can find the link to the English patch notes – via ravensoftware.com.
Warzone: Update 1.37 – Bug Fixes
What bug fixes have been made? A lot has happened here as well, and the developers were able to fix several bugs from Warzone:
- More repairs to the map Verdansk ’84, so players cannot unintentionally leave the map
- A glitch with infinite gas masks has been fixed
- Activision ID was not always displayed correctly when spectating a player
- Looting mission at the location “Summit” has been repaired
- Loadout drops should no longer fall through the salt pools of the salt mine
- LW3-Tundra – fixed graphic bug with the weapon model
- Swiss K31 – glitch could give unintended one-shots with special ammunition
- Bullfrog – sometimes had an excessively high bullet speed
- CARV.2 – barrels did not always give the correct values in matches
- FARA 83 – 50-round magazine is now also a 60-round magazine in the menu
Mid-Season is dedicated to action heroes
Action hero content of Season 3
- Fresh locations on Verdansk ’84
- “80s Action Heroes” event
- New operators John McClane and Rambo
What are these new locations? The map will be changed in several places and will temporarily receive a few locations related to the action hero event. The map changes will apparently be reversed after the end of the event or the season.
In Downtown, you will find the “Nakatomi Plaza” during mid-season 3 right next to the Parliament. The skyscraper is from the famous action movie “Die Hard”. It is said to be the largest building in Verdansk and offers 5 walkable levels. Additionally, you can complete small missions in the building that are entirely in line with the film template. MeinMMO author and “Die Hard” fan Jürgen Horn is now truly excited about Warzone.
At several places on the map, camps are to be replaced by “survival camps.” Here there is a load of equipment, and the developers would like to remind players of “Rambo II.” You can also complete a small mission here – there are “dog tags” to find, and if you collect a certain number, there is a chance for greater rewards.
The third new location is a “CIA Outpost.” In a hangar at the airport, the CIA has settled in to find the fugitive Rambo. You can presumably exchange your found “dog tags” for equipment. This will likely involve air support.
What type of event is this? Mid-Season 3 is themed around two action heroes from the 80s: Rambo and John McClane (from Die Hard). Both are coming to the game with the update as operators and can be used as full-fledged characters – however, you will need to spend money if you want them.
Additionally, an event similar to the Eagle event at the start of Season 3 starts. You can complete up to 9 tasks in Warzone and Cold War respectively and receive a reward for each completed task. If you complete all 9 tasks, there is a special weapon blueprint as a reward. The event runs for 14 days until June 3.
We will include the trailer for the hero content here for you:
New weapon, new killstreak, new mode
Other gameplay-relevant content of the mid-season
- New weapon – the ballistic knife
- Killstreak – combat bow
- New game mode Power Grab / Power Seizure
- Old acquaintances – Minigun and attack helicopter
What is this new weapon? The ballistic knife is a melee weapon with a twist. You can use the knife normally in close combat, but you can also fire the blades at ranges. Although the range is limited, with some practice, kills are possible even at medium distances. However, to carry the knife, you need to sacrifice a weapon slot and take the ballistic knife as a secondary weapon.
What is this new killstreak? The combat bow will be part of Warzone. You can find the bow as loot and effectively target opponents and vehicles with it. The longer you draw back the bow, the farther the burning arrow will fly.
What is this new game mode? With “Power Grab,” a battle royale is coming to Warzone that brings a kind of killstreak system. You can collect “dog tags” for kills, completed missions, or find them as loot, and with each collected tag, you will progress up a reward ladder. The higher you climb, the better bonuses are available for the match. This includes regular items like killstreaks or self-revivals, but also really strong equipment like the “Enhanced Gas Mask” or the powerful “Specialist Perk.”
Additionally, the first play area circle closes faster and is significantly smaller than in normal matches. Overall, there are only 5 circles, and the Gulag is eliminated. You can revive your teammates through buy stations or with the “dog tags.” The “Power Grab” mode will apparently be introduced in the coming weeks with different team sizes.
What about the minigun and the attack helicopter? For the duration of the event – and possibly beyond – the minigun is making a return. The exact sources for large weapons are not yet known. Furthermore, the attack helicopter was seen in the trailer for the Rambo event. However, the helicopters were not mentioned in the blog for the mid-season. It’s quite possible that the cheating helicopters won’t make it into the game again.
Season 3 is revving up, and the mid-season update looks quite promising. Especially the changes on the map and the small new gameplay elements in the battle royale of Warzone could bring some excitement to the game. Pack your meta loadouts for Warzone in Season 3, tie your headband a little too tight around your temples, and follow in Rambo’s footsteps in Verdansk.
