Teabagging is commonplace in anonymous and competitive online games like Call of Duty and a move some players like to use to humiliate their opponents. The Battle Royale Warzone even has its own teabag finisher animation, which a dataminer recently shared.
What kind of finisher is this? In Call of Duty: Warzone, you can stylishly send your opponents to the Gulag with a so-called “execution.” There are now dozens of these finishing moves, and each one lets your enemies walk away with a unique animation on your kill counter.
A CoD dataminer found a very special execution in the game files of Modern Warfare and Warzone – a teabag finisher. This move elevates teabagging in Call of Duty from a makeshift brag to the ultimate humiliation.
Teabag Finisher Found – Release Uncertain
What does it look like? The dataminer is a small YouTuber, and his channel has an unusually catchy name for its size, “Elvis.” In recent weeks, he has shown unreleased cosmetics of Warzone on his channel, including mastercraft skins that almost fly out of your hands while reloading.
He read about the teabag finisher on Reddit and immediately set about extracting the relevant file from the game and publishing the animation on YouTube:
The finisher belongs to the executions that can be selected by all operators. Many finishers are otherwise tied to a specific character. The soldier eliminates the enemy directly with a precise knife attack and then dips his teabag a few times on the enemy. The humiliation is rounded off with a loud laugh.
When will this come to the game? This is currently unknown, and it is also unclear whether the animation will even make it in. It remains to be seen whether the CoD creators will introduce a complete animation of this often negative gesture into the battle royale. Offensive gestures generally tend to disappear from the game.
However, as “Elvis” explains, it seems possible that the execution may soon be available through a paid bundle:
- The animation is called “Bag ‘Em” and has been in the game as a placeholder since Season 3 of Modern Warfare (via CoD-Tracker)
- Originally, a version of the finisher “take a bow” of the operator Velikan was stored in the file
- It seems since Season 1 of Cold War that the teabag finisher has appeared here
This suggests that the development team has recently put work into the execution and that a release might actually be imminent. Not to mention the creation of the finisher itself, which may have been completed some time ago.
Teabagging is often a gesture of humiliation but can also elicit laughter at the right moment with familiar teammates. On MeinMMO, we took a look at the gamer gesture and explored its background. Check out our special on teabagging if you want to know more about the history of this nasty action.
