In Call of Duty: Warzone, kills and victories are strong indicators of how well you are doing in the Battle Royale. But who actually gets a kill? And what counts as a death for the K/D ratio? MeinMMO clarifies.
If you take down an enemy with a targeted salvo, it doesn’t necessarily mean you get a kill for it.
If the opponent has allies or a self-revive kit and gets back on their feet, you will get points for the damage dealt – but your kill counter stays as it is. But what if another player finishes off the enemy in the downed phase? And how about kills and deaths in the Gulag?

Typically, the player who knocks down the opponent gets the kill. If you down a player, it doesn’t matter if you finish them off, a teammate helps, or another enemy player is going for an assist – the kill goes to your account.
However, you must inflict at least 30 damage to the player for this. If you put an enemy in the downed state and only inflict 29 damage, the player who shot at the enemy with you gets the kill.
But the opponent must be completely eliminated. If the downed soldier manages to get back on their feet, there is no kill.
Each time you are completely eliminated and no teammate can revive you, it counts as a death. Again, if you manage to get back on your feet from the downed state, it doesn’t count as a kill or death for any player.
All kills and deaths in the Gulag count just like in a normal match. Even, if you get kills as an uninvolved stone thrower, they will count towards your kill account. If a player captures the flag, it counts as neither a kill nor a death.
Not for your K/D or the leaderboard. But you can use the phase to complete tasks. For example, the kills here count towards the unlock challenge for the popular Grau 5.56, which is usually hard to unlock in Battle Royale.
Go to the Warzone main menu, select the “Quartiere” tab, and at the bottom choose the “Dossier” option. Here you can view your statistics, such as your points, kills, and victories.
The Warzone tracks many of your actions and collects a lot of data about your gameplay in the background. There are websites that access this data and process the information for you. Two good examples are:
To view your data, you need to go to “callofduty.de” and set the “Data Visible” option to “All” in your linked accounts profile. After that, you just need to enter your Gamertag for your platform on the websites and you will receive your extensive statistics – even in comparison to other players who share their gameplay data.
In the end, the K/D is an interesting value, but it often does not have the significance attributed to it. You might take on a role in the team that supports your teammates. They may have more kills, but they also depend on your thoughtful paths, calls, or good mood to be effective.
What matters is that you have fun and try to continuously improve. Both are factors that are hard to quantify. However, you should still rely on the best weapons in Warzone.
