Just recently, reports surfaced about a hack in Call of Duty: Warzone that elevated players to max level and provided them with weapon skins, but it seems it’s already history again. Allegedly, the developers quickly responded with a fix.
What kind of hack is it? The incident in question involves a hack that allowed cheaters to suddenly help other players level up.
- Players suddenly reached max level
- All challenges for weapon skins were completed at once
- Even big Twitch streamers like “Nickmercs” reportedly became “victims” of the hackers
- The streamer then urged the cheaters to “gift” other players in this manner
- The site Dexerto referred to it as the “best hack of all time?”
Data miner says: It’s all over again
This is what’s happening now: As reported by the portals Dexerto and CharlieIntel, data miner and leaker “CallofDutyHope” has noted that the developers have already addressed the issue.
On Twitter, he stated that there was a “silent update” for Warzone that eliminated both the level 1000 hack and the weapon hack. A reason for the quick fix, according to “CallofDutyHope”, is that the hackers had published their code (via Twitter).
As a result, hackers can no longer gift other players with the “bonuses” in this way. However, players who have already been affected and thus unlocked the content are currently reported to not lose it again.
However, there is still no official statement from the developers regarding this incident. Whether the problem is completely resolved remains uncertain.
Warzone has had its issues with cheaters in the past – especially on PC. However, analysts suggest that consoles could also be more affected in the future.
