According to new rumors, Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a new game mode: Private Matches. This is something many players have been waiting for a long time. Why is that? MeinMMO explains the benefits of it.
What are private matches? A game mode in which a player opens their own lobby for Warzone and only invited or friend players are allowed to participate. Private Matches are games without matchmaking.
You will not have random players in the match, which gives you full control over who you play with and against. Whether bots can also be set is still unclear.
When are they coming? There is no date for the matches yet, especially since they have not been officially announced. The information comes from the Twitter channel Modern Warzone, which has previously released many leaks and correctly predicted new features. According to them, private matches will be available “soon”:
ModernWarzone already predicted private matches in March 2020. However, nothing has happened so far, which has made some users skeptical. Most, however, are looking forward to it, as the feature would bring many advantages. Some of them are listed here.
1. Better guides and training
Private Matches also allow you to train more efficiently if you want to improve in Warzone. There is already a good aim training for Warzone from the experts, but that only helps with aiming.
If you start the game with friends or even alone, you can take a look at the map in peace and explore locations. For instance, you can discover spots that are not so easy to reach, which can give you a tactical advantage in combat. During this, you don’t have to constantly worry about a sniper taking you out.
The mode would also be helpful for experts creating useful guides for Warzone, such as more detailed information on the stat “Bullet Velocity”. With a private match, these experts can test more easily and better.
2. Competitive gaming
Lastly, the feature would be a blessing for the competitive scene, as it is currently difficult to hold your own tournaments or even train effectively. You are always subject to matchmaking and server connection as a team.
With private matches, it would be possible to invite teams to train against each other (“Scrims”) or even host entire tournaments. Both professionals and amateurs would benefit from being able to better enter the e-sports.
The problem with connections would also be resolved, as private matches are generally hosted by a player, not running through a server. However, there is no information on this yet.
3. Complete challenges and secret files more easily?
In Modern Warfare, some private modes like the survival mode granted experience points for a while. Whether this would also work in a private Warzone match is still unclear.
However, if this works, it would likely be possible to complete challenges where other players would otherwise mess it up for you. The various secret files, such as the ones from week 5, could be completed much more easily this way.
Additionally, you could coordinate with friends to complete challenges specifically. This would make it easier to pursue your goals and complete tasks.
By completing certain challenges or grinding in private matches, you could earn experience points to get the rewards of the Battle Pass faster or unlock new weapons directly:
Moreover, leveling up weapons would be easier, and you would get attachments that you can then use in regular matches.
Problems with private matches
Despite the excitement about the possible feature, there are still some open questions and problems that players have already pointed out:
- How large will private lobbies be? A match in Warzone can hold well over 100 players after all
- Will private matches have an impact on wait times for regular players?
- Will you be able to set bots and if so, how will they work?
Currently, it is still uncertain whether, and if so, when private matches will appear. In the roadmap for Season 5 of Warzone, there is no information on this yet. ModernWarzone is often right, but mistakes can happen here as well. So, anyone looking forward to the feature will have to be patient until it is official.
