In Call of Duty: Warzone, you often find yourself in situations where you must face enemies at longer distances. It helps if your bullets reach the enemy faster than his reaches you. A high bullet speed assists you, at least sometimes.
What is bullet speed? The stat is one of many that you can modify while building weapons in the gunsmith. It determines how long it takes for a bullet to reach its target after leaving the barrel.
This is important because in Warzone, just like in Modern Warfare, all weapons and bullets are subject to physics. They require a certain amount of time to reach the target and even drop a bit, depending on the distance.
What benefits does bullet speed offer? Generally, the rule is: with higher bullet speed, bullets hit faster and hit the opponent sooner. The time between the shot and the actual arrival is shortened with higher speeds.
Additionally, you will hit more accurately where the crosshair is located at longer distances. Bullet speed counters the physics known as “bullet drop”. This means that with higher bullet speed, you need to adjust less vertically at longer distances when aiming.
The value can therefore, together with the right attachments for better aiming, ensure that you can build powerful weapons that hardly miss even at long distances. An example of this is the laser build for the Kilo 141.
Bullet Speed – Test in Video
Where do the values come from? The YouTuber and CoD expert TheXclusiveAce explained earlier for the multiplayer, what exactly bullet speed is and why you need it. In a new video, he now explains how the value affects Warzone.
He tests four different weapons on a PlayStation 4 with 60 FPS, including some of the most popular assault rifles in Warzone:
- AK-47
- CR-56 AMAX
- Grau
- Bruen Mk 9
He uses various barrel attachments, such as the popular Archangel barrel for the Grau, to test how the barrel affects bullet speed. You can find his test here in the embedded video:
Bullet Speed in Warzone – Effect and Attachments
Where is bullet speed relevant? As the test shows, bullet speed is unimportant for all fights at 50 meters or below. Most rifles and attachments have a similar time between shot and hit here.
The big exception is the Archangel barrel, which is significantly slower than the other versions by 5 frames. This shows that barrels that increase bullet speed actually reduce it at 50 meters and below.
The stat only becomes relevant when you are fighting other players at around 75 meters or more.
Which attachments help me with this? Basically, all barrel attachments that increase bullet speed are useful for this. As a rule of thumb, longer attachments can get more out of the stat.
Especially with the Bruen, which is currently considered the strongest weapon in Warzone, longer barrels are important to hit quickly at greater distances. Particularly the 26.8″ barrel helps you with this and is even the strongest attachment of the tested barrels at 100 meters.
Benefit of Bullet Speed in Warzone
When should I pay attention to bullet speed? The value becomes important for you when you want to play with rapid-fire weapons at greater distances. However, it is important to take weapons that do not have too much recoil from the start.
Bullet speed is particularly interesting when you engage with other players with similar weapons at these ranges. Because then it matters who hits first and can send the opponent to the ground before losing his health points.
Additionally, everyone who enjoys playing sniper rifles should keep the stat in mind. Ace has found that the time between shot and hit does not change with different attachments. This seems to become relevant only from 300 meters.
This influences how close you hit to the crosshair when firing at very long distances or trying to hit moving targets. For example, record kills at a distance of 2.5 km are possible.
When should I ignore the value? Generally, when you want to play in close quarters and indoors. For shotguns and submachine guns, the value is usually not very interesting and can be neglected.
In any case, it helps to familiarize yourself with the values and bullet speed. Whether you want to use them consciously or ignore them, the value can change the behavior of your weapon. If you want to practice with a new weapon or get warmed up, use the aim training for Warzone from the expert to get used to the new behavior.
