The Battle Royale Warzone “merges” at the end of the year with the new Call of Duty: Vanguard and slowly, the first traces of this collaboration are becoming apparent. Why are there these weapons? The free Call of Duty: Warzone is the bridge between the annual pay titles of CoD and new content in the Battle Royale is oriented towards the current Call of Duty. Currently, Black Ops Cold War is still leading, but on November 5th the new Vanguard launches, and a few weeks later, Warzone and Vanguard will merge.
And slowly, the influence of the new CoD on Warzone is increasing. With the launch of Season 6, 3 World War bunkers were introduced and now you can unlock the first Vanguard items. This includes 2 weapons – the assault rifle StG 44 and the semi-automatic rifle M1 Garand. We will show you how to get the weapons and how good they are.
CoD Warzone: Unlock StG and M1 Garand from Vanguard
How do I get the weapons? After the start of the new season, the weapons were already available due to a bug. Now you can officially unlock both new firearms through the current Battle Pass of Season 6. For each weapon, there are two blueprints:
- 1. StG Blueprint – Level 24
- 2. StG Blueprint – Level 64
- 1. Garand Blueprint – Level 34
- 2. Garand Blueprint – Level 72
The blueprints are available at these levels in addition to the content from Warzone and Cold War and are free. So you do not need to own the Battle Pass if you want the weapons. Whether the pass is worth it for you, you can find out here:
Are these just normal weapons? No, not really. If you unlock the blueprints, you cannot use the base version of the weapons. This means that attachments cannot be changed and only the predefined setups of the blueprints can be played.
Furthermore, the weapons already have the 10-attachment system from Vanguard – and the second StG blueprint at level 72 also already has all 10 attachments fully leveled. However, it is still uncertain whether this also foreshadows the gunsmith of the future in Warzone.
However, what is possible: If you level the weapons now, you will keep the weapon level at the start of Vanguard. You cannot use the weapons in Cold War.
As a blueprint not strong, but later good chances
The first analyses of the two new weapons are already available and we will show you a brief assessment of the new rifles.
How strong is the StG 44? The assault rifle is almost a 1-to-1 copy of the AK-47 from Cold War in terms of stats. The AK is currently considered one of the strongest assault rifles in Warzone, and correspondingly, the StG 44 also has potential.
However, the available blueprints are not optimally tailored to Warzone. The weapon feels very unstable and is difficult to control. Data expert “JGOD” published the stats on Twitter in an overview:
How strong is the M1 Garand? The new semi-automatic rifle also shows potential according to “TrueGameData”, but here too, it is the attachments that do not fit optimally (via YouTube). In private matches, it is possible to test other setups of the weapons, and the Warzone expert particularly highlights the “re-centering” after a shot.
This makes the recoil very easy to control. However, the Garand has a similar problem to the other tactical rifles in Warzone: After the OP phase of tactical rifles in early 2021, the bullet speed of the entire weapon class dropped drastically, which did not help the range rifles at all.
Both weapons are therefore currently more of a novelty, but not serious alternatives in the weapon meta.
Vanguard is just around the corner and Warzone is getting ready to welcome the new CoD. Weapons, map, engine, anti-cheat – the Battle Royale reaches a new level with Vanguard, but there are still few details about the integration.
Since there are now officially 10 attachments in Warzone, this could also be an indication of how the gunsmith will function in the future. However, due to the transition to a new engine, it cannot be definitively said what will happen to the old weapons – will there also be 10 attachments or only 5 again?
