The MP5 from Cold War does not shine in Call of Duty: Warzone with range, but stands at the top when it comes to damage of automatic weapons. This makes it particularly interesting for players who are looking for a pure close-range weapon but are reluctant to resort to shotguns.
However, the “Cold War” MP5 can provide you with an additional advantage besides outstanding damage – easy vehicle kills. The YouTuber and CoD expert “TheXclusiveAce” shows a suitable setup for that, and MeinMMO explains why you should definitely give the attachment combination a chance.
CoD Warzone: MP5 from Cold War – Setup with Vehicle Damage
What does the setup look like? As with almost all Warzone setups, you grab one of the strong silencers, a larger magazine, and an underbarrel for better control. The special thing about the setup is the barrel.

With the Ulan barrel, you deal significantly more damage to vehicles. A buggy only needs about 25 shots and flies into the air – so you just have to shoot at the unstable vehicle for about 1.6 seconds and it explodes. The larger Rover takes a bit longer, but with the 50-round drum, you can also take out the family car with one magazine. A truck is in the red zone after the 50 shots. The weapon’s range hardly plays a role – you just need to land the hits.

Why does this work so well for the MP5? The MP5 from Cold War is a pure close-range machine and eliminates enemies with chest shots in the first damage range in just 491 milliseconds. This close-combat focus allows for more freedom with the barrel attachments. Normally, we would rather recommend an increase in range or at least bullet speed, but with the MP5 from Cold War, the case is different.
Due to the very low base range of 9 meters, you can hardly increase the range because the bonuses are calculated proportionally. 10% more range is only 90 centimeters. Through the close-combat focus, you can also neglect bullet speed. At the short distances where the MP5 from Cold War excels, the low base value of 350 meters/second is more than sufficient.
Since neither range nor bullet speed bonuses are worth it, you can opt for the vehicle damage barrel without major disadvantages.
What else can I try with the setup? With the silencers, you should decide between the Agency Suppressor and the “Silencer.” The Agency Suppressor gives you some bullet speed and range but slightly hinders your aim down sights time. The “Silencer” improves your mobility but reduces the already low range to just over 7.50 meters.
The laser sight improves your hipfire and is not necessarily needed. Opt for the Tiger Team Spotlight or take a stock attachment if you prefer more mobility for your MP5 from Cold War.
You should play the vehicle damage MP5 together with a range assault rifle. In close quarters and at very short distances, there is no better submachine gun in Warzone. While there are a few weapons that can keep up with the damage, they come with very small magazines.
With the MP5 from Cold War, you have a pleasant 50 shots and even an effective means against vehicles that is not affected by trophy systems.
As the exact opposite of the MP5 from Cold War, one could call the Milano 821. The Milano has been at the top in Warzone since a buff with Season 4 and is strong at almost all distances.
