For Warzone expert “JGOD”, the AK-47 is currently even the best assault rifle – as sniper support and for range battles (via GoogleDocs as of October 4). If you are looking for a weapon with a lot of kick and are willing to accept a bit more recoil, then the AK-47 might be just right for you, especially if you were a fan of the CR-56 AMAX in the past.

What makes the AK-47 strong? In close combat as support for a sniper rifle, the AK from Cold War has long been dominating the tier lists. This is due to its strong time-to-kill (TTK) and the good handling of its slow fire rate. If you miss your target, the TTK increases above average, but with a bit of practice, the weapon can be well tamed.
Hits deal 36 damage to the opponent, and 7 shots take down enemies within just 600 milliseconds. Where the hits land does not matter – chest, stomach, limbs all have the same damage value. In close combat, you need 2 headshots to reduce the TTK to 500 milliseconds.
Without further attachments, the AK-47 from Cold War enters the second damage tier at just under 25 meters. Here you need exactly 700 milliseconds for your kill, and in long-range combat, 2 headshots also help reduce the time to 600 milliseconds.
The AK-47 currently offers a lot of damage while maintaining moderate recoil. The damage/recoil ratio is very good. Although you don’t get a M13 laser, you do get a well-controllable weapon with which you can outperform most competitors.

Who is the AK for? The AK-47 from Cold War is a strong alternative if you don’t mind a bit of recoil. With the Russian assault rifle, you can also beat your opponents in direct assault rifle comparisons at both short and long distances. However, you will feel this versatility when you encounter enemies with specialized weapons.
Against an SMG, you will lose the 1vs1 if you are closer than 10 – 15 meters to your enemy. Also in long-range combat, LMGs can beat you if you start firing simultaneously. However, the open-bolt delay of the LMGs makes up for the high damage in favor of the AK-47.
