On the night of January 5th to 6th, a small update was released for Call of Duty: Warzone. However, the patch does not convince – there were 3 bug fixes and one gameplay change. MeinMMO shows you patch notes and reactions.

CoD Warzone: Update January 5th – Patch Notes
When will the update be released? The patch is already online and available for download.
How big is the update? It is just a small data package. On consoles, the update loads at game start.
What has changed? The developers at Raven Software have published the sparse patch notes on Twitter. There are a total of 4 entries:
- Gameplay
- In Vanguard modes, the shot sale event now lasts as long as the circle cycle in which the event started.
- Bug Fixes
- Fixed collision issues on Caldera that players could exploit to their advantage.
- Removed a bug that caused free loadout boxes to land in the same spot for all teams.
- The broken “Awakening” skin of Francis has been repaired – the skin could make him invisible.
What issues will be fixed soon? With this small update, the first wave of changes after the holidays has been brought into the game.
Additionally, the developers addressed other issues and updated their Trello board (via trello.com). On the board, the Warzone makers collect bugs they are working on. This includes:
- Mouse inversion on consoles.
- Not visible weapon models of Vanguard weapons.
- Throwing knives provide advantages when respawning.
- The double OP shotguns will be nerfed.
- Game can crash at the buy station.
- Xbox players cannot play without Xbox Live Gold.
- Players are receiving too little weapon XP.
- The inconsistent audio output is to be improved.
- Performance issues on PlayStation consoles.
- “Demon weapon” bug.
Players disappointed by the first update of 2022
How is the patch being received by players? Under the tweet about the patch, there are many dissatisfied comments. After the long update break, expectations were higher in some areas. The last update came on December 19th.

- @intheboombox on Twitter on the shot sale change: “You have lost touch with the players, […] if you let the shot sale last longer. It shouldn’t start in every match and it should definitely not run as long as it has so far. And now it is supposed to run even longer?”

Often, players also mention issues with the multiplayer of Modern Warfare. Occasionally, players simply wish the developers a happy new year.
The list of issues in Warzone is long, and the developers are continuing to work on solutions. However, the current state is a major annoyance for many players, and the hope for further updates in the coming days is palpable.
Meanwhile, there has been some movement on the cheater front. Recently, it was reported that Activision is suing a major cheat provider from Germany – EngineOwning.
