CoD Warzone disappoints its console players with the Pacific update as the FoV slider (English: Field of View slider) is missing. Many had wished for it for consoles, but it is not included after all. This is not well received by fans.
What is the problem? Many console players of CoD Warzone are not fully satisfied with the latest update. The FOV slider, which some have been wanting for a long time, has not been added to the game even with the latest Pacific update.
This causes disappointment and leaves some even frustrated. Some would have preferred this feature over the new Caldera map, which makes up the main part of the Pacific update.
What is a FoV slider? This allows you to adjust your field of view. If you turn up the FoV slider, you see more of the game. The visible area is larger, allowing you to recognize enemies at the edge of the screen that you would not see otherwise.
Even for MeinMMO author and Warzone veteran Maik Schneider, the FoV slider is one of the features that dampens his hype for the Pacific update:

Why do so many want this feature? One of the main reasons is that PC players can modify their field of view. This gives them an advantage over console players, in addition to mouse and keyboard control.
With a larger field of view, the gaming experience is different and sometimes even faster. Additionally, the console versions of CoD Vanguard and even its predecessor CoD Cold War feature such a function.
In the worst case, players have to readjust every time they switch from one of the titles to Warzone or forgo the feature there to avoid this.
This is how players react to the missing feature: In the subreddit for CoD Warzone, it is clear how angry some are. While they look forward to the new Caldera map, a FoV slider has been on the wish list for some for a long time and is almost even more important.

Some are now calling for not investing any more money in the Battle Pass for Warzone until the feature is added. They want to protest.
The communication from developer Raven regarding this issue is also criticized, as the developer did not clearly express whether the feature is included or not until the actual release of the update.
Is there hope? Some players suspect that the FoV slider could be added shortly. The reason for this lies in the patch notes for the Pacific update. Apparently, the FoV slider was briefly listed but then removed (via reddit).
Whether it was a simple error or whether the feature was actually planned for launch and then had to be removed is unclear. Currently, there is also no official statement on the issue.
How is the update otherwise received? Despite the anger over the missing FoV slider, the new map is receiving a lot of positive feedback. Many players feel reminded of competitors like the battle royale games Fortnite or PUBG when playing Caldera. You can also follow the launch in our live ticker.
