With a unique attachment, you can turn the weapon M4A1 in Call of Duty: Warzone into a killing machine for solo mode. Here are the pros and cons of the .458-SOCOM ammunition and a strong solo loadout.
The solo mode of Call of Duty: Warzone has its own rules and plays significantly different from the team experience. Therefore, it makes sense to create specific setups and loadouts for your outings in Battle Royale.
The M4A1 offers an ammunition attachment that has found its niche here and allows you to rack up really fast kills in solo BR. The shooter YouTuber “jackfrags” presents his solo setup in an English YT video and is excited about the range and lethality of his setup (via youtube).
By the way, yesterday, on May 8, there was another update, which now includes a new solo mode in the game: CoD MW & Warzone: Update from May 8 brings new mode, playlists, and helicopters
Small magazine but high damage for solo players
What does the setup look like? A key element is the ammunition attachment “.458-SOCOM 10 round magazine”. Added to this are a suppressor and attachments for better aiming:
- Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
- Barrel: M16 Grenadier
- Optics: Small sight for aiming
- Underbarrel: Command Foregrip
- .458-SOCOM 10 round magazine
Why is it so strong? With the .458 caliber, you have higher damage and more range. The time-to-kill (TTK) is reduced by nearly 20% compared to the regular M4 ammunition. For opponents with full armor, you need a minimum of 480 milliseconds instead of 576.
This brings the M1A4 very close to the top value for automatic weapons in Battle Royale. The submachine gun AUG achieves 440 milliseconds and is therefore considered the best weapon in Warzone. However, with the SOCOM-M4, you have high precision and accuracy. Here the AUG has its weaknesses, which become shaky even at medium distances.
Due to its versatility, the M4A1 is already extremely strong and popular. With the attachment, the assault rifle now serves another target group. The complete analysis of the TTK values of almost all Warzone weapons can be found here:
Why should I only use it in BR solo? However, the setup has a significant disadvantage, making it almost only interesting for the solo mode of Battle Royale: 10 rounds in the magazine.
For players with 3 armor plates, you need 6 body hits. So you can easily empty a magazine on one enemy. If a teammate of the eliminated soldier comes around the corner, you no longer have enough firepower to take him down immediately unless you land a few strong headshots.
If you like playing solo, try out this M4 setup and test it. The small magazine requires a bit of adjustment, but the low recoil and high range allow you to land good hits immediately. A challenging but absolutely awesome setup that should help you in BR solo.
CoD Warzone: Solo loadout for the M4A1-SOCOM
What loadout fits with it? In solo mode, almost everything revolves around the 1vs1 combat. Many solo players approach the fight very cautiously, sometimes staying longer in a house or looking for safe corners to survive the next circle. Therefore, it is also important for you to be detected as little as possible.
Perks
- Blue: Cold-Blooded / Hardline
- Red: Ghost
- Green: Eager / Scout
Secondary weapon
- Strong pistol
- or rocket launcher
Equipment
- C4
- Heartbeat sensor
Why these perks? “Ghost” should be set when you are playing solo. This way, you do not appear on the heartbeat sensor, and drones will not give away your location. Gunfire disables the effect for a few seconds, though. Since you cannot take “Overkill” with you, look for a second primary weapon in the match. A fast submachine gun fits well with the M4 setup.
“Cold-Blooded” makes you harder to see for popular thermal sights, and “Eager” lets you switch weapons faster – helpful if the enemy is still standing after the 10 shots. With the blue and yellow perk, you generally have more flexibility.
You can swap one of the two perks for an anti-explosive extra. If you want to clear an occupied house, the entrenched players often like to use mines to protect themselves. With “Hardline,” you take less damage here, and with “Scout,” you can see and even hack the mines.
Why C4 and heartbeat sensor? With the C4, you can defend against vehicles and with a well-placed window throw, startle or take down camping enemies.
Since some players forgo “Ghost” to take a modified secondary weapon into the fight with “Overkill,” you can scout areas and learn the approximate position of some enemies. The sensor is one of the strongest tactical items in Warzone and can also be an invaluable aid in solo mode.
