Every Thursday, new playlists launch in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War – including the evening of June 24th. However, both CoDs took the opportunity this time to introduce updates with several changes. MeinMMO presents the patch notes.
What’s going on with CoD? The first week of Season 4 is over, and everything is back to normal in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. With the playlist update on the evening of June 24th, the crash event has ended, and the usual rhythm returns.
However, the update on Thursday evening didn’t just adjust the playlists. A few bug fixes and new features were also introduced – such as new rewards in the ranked mode “League Play” of Black Ops Cold War. We have looked at the changes and present them to you in an overview, along with the new playlists in the game.
Warzone fixes map exploits and “Dirt Bike” audio
What has changed in Warzone? If you tried out the crazy Dirt Bike in the first week, you might have noticed – the sound was awful. Somehow a bit too loud, and sometimes the gas sputtered, which could get very annoying. The developers have worked on the audio and write in the patch notes:
- Dirt Bike audio has been reduced
Next up is the riot shield. In the right hands, this equipment piece can become a nasty weapon in Warzone, but it’s now a bit less common in matches. The developers state:
- The riot shield has been temporarily removed as ground loot – but can still be found in loot boxes
Additionally, some bugs have disappeared from the game. Certain objects on the map apparently had issues with collision – players could exploit somewhat permeable objects to their advantage. The recon binoculars and the “Red Door” fast travel system also had problems:
- Collision issues with various objects on the map removed, which players had used for peeking/exploiting/shooting through
- Glitch removed that allowed the use of the recon binoculars’ abilities without equipping it
- Interaction text of the “Red Doors” was sometimes displayed incorrectly

Cold War: Update 1.19 brings new rewards for “League Play”
What has changed in Cold War? In Cold War’s multiplayer, you have access to new modes – in the current playlist and your custom games. Additionally, a 2v2 gunfight tournament is starting again, where you can earn cosmetics by fighting against 15 other teams.
The biggest new feature is earnable cosmetics in the “League Play” mode. Each ladder event now gives you rewards based on your final placement. There are also extra rewards if you achieve 10 wins during an event – depending on your current division. These include charms and stickers.

Call of Duty aims to provide its players with fresh content every week, regularly cycling through the playlists and also making minor adjustments outside of major season updates.
