Season 5 2021 is live in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. As always, there are a few new weapons at the start of the season, and more will come throughout the season. MeinMMO shows you how to unlock a total of 4 weapons.
What’s going on with CoD? About every 6 – 8 weeks, a new season starts in Call of Duty, bringing free content to the Battle Royale Warzone and the premium title Black Ops Cold War. Currently, Season 5 is in action and brings a few new weapons to the game. In this article, you’ll find out how to get the new toys and what weapons they are. With one click, you can go directly to the weapon you want:
- EM2: Assault Rifle – Start of the Season
- TEC-9: Submachine Gun – Start of the Season
- Cane: Melee Weapon – Start of the Season
- Marshal: Pistol – Throughout the Season
You currently cannot get the Marshal yet. The weapon will come into the game later in Season 5. As soon as the challenge to unlock it is known, we will update the article accordingly.
Unlocking EM2 in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
How do I get the EM2? The weapon is part of the free path in the Battle Pass of Season 5. You must play the pass up to level 15 to unlock the new assault rifle.

What kind of weapon is this? The assault rifle EM2 deals significant damage but makes you feel its recoil. Initial descriptions suggest handling similar to the Oden from Modern Warfare. Currently, it appears to be a weapon for strong players who can control the high recoil and benefit from the high damage.

Unlocking TEC-9 in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
How do I get the TEC-9? The new submachine gun is also part of the Battle Pass. You need to grind a bit more than for the EM2 – at level 31, you’ll get the new SMG:
- Play the Battle Pass to level 31
What kind of weapon is this? The TEC-9 is a semi-automatic SMG – you have to pull the trigger for each bullet. However, there is the muzzle attachment “Full Auto Repeater,” which allows you to switch the weapon to automatic fire. In single-fire mode, the weapon is said to have great range, while in automatic fire, the recoil is strong.

Unlocking Cane in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
How do I get the cane? The only new melee weapon in Season 5 is obtained either through a challenge or by purchasing a bundle in the real-money shop:
- Eliminate an opponent under the influence of a flash or stun grenade in 15 different matches (Multiplayer Cold War & Warzone)
- Kill 50 enemies with a melee weapon 20 times or more without being hit (Cold War Zombies)
- Purchase the “Stolen Goods” bundle in the shop
If you make the kills in Cold War multiplayer, you cannot leave the match before it ends. The progress will not count otherwise. In the Plunder mode of Warzone, you can leave the game right after the kill.
What kind of weapon is this? Whether it’s a sword, baseball bat, or sledgehammer – Warzone and Cold War now offer a massive collection of melee weapons, and the cane is the newest in the line.
Unlocking Marshal in Warzone and Cold War – Here’s how
How do I get the Marshal? Currently, you cannot unlock the small pistol yet. The weapon will come later in Season 5, and we will adjust the article accordingly as soon as the unlocking challenge is online.
What kind of weapon is this? A mini shotgun in the pistol category – low range with lots of punch. The weapon has already appeared in the game, and apparently, you can test the pistol with some luck in the pre-lobby before a Warzone match.

How the two new weapons EM2 and TEC-9 will fit into the weapon meta of Warzone and Cold War remains to be seen. But currently, it seems that neither of the weapons is “broken” or “overpowered” – good news for all CoD fans.
Especially in the Battle Royale Warzone, new weapons sometimes tend to take over everything – there are already over 100 in the game.
