Call of Duty has started a bonus action for PlayStation players. In the so-called “Mission Briefing,” you can earn prizes by playing in Battle Royale Warzone and Black Ops Cold War – including CoD Points, headsets, and controllers. MeinMMO shows you how to participate.
What kind of action is this? Call of Duty and PlayStation have jointly launched the “Mission Briefing” action, which allows you to earn credits in exchange for in-game achievements. You can directly exchange these credits for prizes or for raffle tickets that promise better prizes, but do not guarantee them.
Who can participate? The action is aimed at players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You sign up with your PSN ID on the joint homepage of CoD and PlayStation, select missions, and must complete the tasks on one of the Sony consoles (via cod.playstation.com).
What can you earn? The prizes are quite decent, as you can earn a package with 1,100 CoD Points. Although this package costs a fair amount of credits, if you are playing anyway and have the missions running in the background, it’s a nice bonus. Otherwise, you can receive wallpapers or XP tokens. You can also exchange your credits for raffle tickets – here you can find the best rewards, but no guarantees.
Mission Briefing – CoD and PlayStation Reward You for Playtime
How do I participate? You need a PlayStation console and a real interest in Call of Duty. Additionally, you must provide your CoD data to participate in the action.
- Sign up with your PSN account on the action page – cod.playstation.com
- You may need to release your CoD data – my.callofduty.com
- Go to callofduty.com in your profile / linked accounts and set the “Visible Data” of your linked PlayStation account to “All”
Now you have access to the missions. You must keep your CoD data open during the action; otherwise, your progress cannot be tracked.
How can I complete missions? If you have successfully registered on “cod.playstation.com” with your opened CoD data, you will gain access to the control console of the action. On the left, there’s a menu with “Earn Credits” – click on it, and you will see all available missions. At the top are the missions for Warzone, and if you scroll further down, you will also find tasks for Cold War.
The missions require certain accomplishments in the game. Missions that reward you with a lot of credits demand a lot from you as well. For instance, there is the mission “Battle Royale Star” for Warzone, where you have to achieve 5 victories in Battle Royale within 12 hours – for that, you earn 1,000 credits.
Additionally, the missions are divided into categories, and you can only have one active mission from each category at the same time. In the category “Warzone Victories,” you can also achieve 2 victories within 72 hours – but this only gives you 100 credits. You can find the mode in which you need to complete the missions directly on the mission tile:
There are more than 112 missions in 28 categories. Theoretically, you can activate 28 missions at once. However, the timer starts immediately after activation, and you can only accept each mission once. Once you have completed the mission or the timer has run out, the mission is no longer available. You can earn points in the following game modes:
- Battle Royale in Warzone
- Plunder in Warzone
- Play matches in Cold War
- Domination in Cold War
- Hardcore Domination in Cold War
- Search and Destroy in Cold War
- Hardcore Search and Destroy in Cold War
- Team Deathmatch in Cold War
- Hardcore Team Deathmatch in Cold War
How long does the action last? The “Mission Briefing” is already active and runs for almost the entire Season 4 until August 10. In the end, you can also secure a special “Combat Record” plaque that represents your achievements during the action in the design of Season 4.
CoD Points, Controller, “PS Plus” Subscription – Rewards are solid
How do I get the rewards? During the action, you can obtain rewards through two methods:
- Spend credits – Direct activation of a reward through credits
- Raffle – “Purchase” a raffle ticket for 2,000 credits
For your earned credits, you either receive direct rewards through the control center of the action or participate in the raffle.
The highlight of the instant rewards is a package with CoD Points. For 17,500 credits, you get 1,100 CoD Points, which corresponds to a value of €10. Additionally, there are XP tokens, wallpapers for desktop and mobile, and dynamic designs for your PlayStation.
In the raffle, there are not only in-game rewards, but you can even win a controller or headset:
- 6x 12 months PS Plus
- 3x Midnight Blue Dualshock 4
- 3x Midnight Black Dualshock 4
- 4 Wireless Gold Headset
- 3x 13,000 CoD Points
- 3x 5,000 CoD Points
A ticket for the raffle costs 2,000 credits, and you can also “buy” multiple tickets to increase your chances. However, please observe the terms of participation (via cod.playstation.com). You need to have a residence in Germany, Switzerland, or Austria, and must be at least 18 years old.
The drawing of the prizes is done randomly, and if you win something, you will receive a message via the PlayStation Network.
The action is another component in the collaboration between Call of Duty and PlayStation. The rewards are quite impressive, but the missions can also be quite challenging.
