Matches in Call of Duty: Warzone are characterized by chaos, randomness, and lawlessness. It’s time for someone to clean up Verdansk. And the developers already know who has what it takes: The action hero Judge Dredd, who will soon be coming as an operator to the game.
What’s going on? Call of Duty has started collaborations with well-known characters from film and television twice since the launch of the battle royale Warzone:
- For the Halloween event in 2020 with Leather Face and Jigsaw
- For Season 3 Reloaded in May 2021 with Rambo and John McClane
Now the official “Call of Duty” account on Twitter has revealed the next Hollywood classic – Judge Dredd. MeinMMO presents some background on the new character and speculates when Sylvester Stallone’s next role might hit Warzone. We embed the tweet with the first images here:

Who is Judge Dredd? The character is known from the British comic series “2000 AD”, which emerged in the late 70s. In the year 2099, much of the Earth is a nuclear wasteland, and people live almost solely in large mega-cities, some of which have several hundred million inhabitants. A single apartment block can already house 50,000 residents.
Judge Dredd lives in such a city – Mega-City One, with 400 million inhabitants on the East Coast of North America. Maintaining law and order in such a dense gathering of people is quite a challenging endeavor when a conviction must come through a complicated legal system. That’s why we have street judges.
Judge Dredd is one such street judge, and his responsibilities are illustrated by his most famous quote: “I am the law.” These judges serve simultaneously as police, jury, judge, and executioner. Equipped with powerful gear, street judges ensure that chaos in the alleys of mega-cities is kept under control while enforcing the law with plenty of action.
A hallmark of Judge Dredd is his helmet, which he almost never removes. Except when Sylvester Stallone plays the role, of course. Besides the comics, there have also been several adaptations, 1995 with Stallone and also 2012 with Karl Urban (the crazy one from “The Boys”) in the role of Judge Dredd (via Wikipedia).
How and when is Judge Dredd coming? Call of Duty has announced that the skin will be part of Mid-Season 5 of Cold War and Warzone. Mid-Season starts on September 9 and will likely run until October 7. However, when exactly Judge Dredd is coming is not yet known.
Warzone is bringing the next action hero into the game, and it will be exciting to see how Judge Dredd is integrated into the battle royale. So far, the collaborations have always been accompanied by changes in the game. For the event with Rambo and Die Hard even a huge skyscraper was introduced into the game, which still stands out as a landmark in downtown Verdansk.
