The M13 assault rifle is one of the most stable weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Here on MeinMMO, we present an extremely stable laser setup for the assault rifle and compare the M13 with the competition.
The setup is recommended by the well-known CoD YouTuber Drift0r, who, besides tips & tricks and news videos, publishes in-depth analyses for the weapons of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone. Here is his video about the setup:
Warzone: M13 Laser Setup with Scope
The M13 may not deal the highest damage, but due to its minimal recoil, it performs strongly even without attachments. With a bit of fine-tuning and attachments for better aiming, you get a very stable and precise rifle here. Optimal for the often large engagement distances in Warzone.
Attachments M13 Laser Setup
- Silencer: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: Tempus Marksman
- Scope: VLK 3.0x Scope
- Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
- Ammunition: 50-Round Magazine
What do the attachments bring? With a silencer and barrel, you increase your range and deal full damage at distances of up to 50 meters. Suppressors are also quite helpful and you are harder to detect.
The larger scope helps with aiming at even greater distances. The 3x VLK scope offers a good compromise between zoom functionality and mobility, and the 50-round clip gives you enough bullets to send multiple soldiers to the Gulag in succession.
The large barrel and the “Commando Foregrip” ensure superb stability. As a result, you get a stable assault rifle that remains relatively quick to handle and allows for accurate shots over long distances.
What are the weaknesses of the setup? “Drift0r” also clarifies that the weapon often falls short against other rifles in close combat. You may hit all shots in your magazine at long distances, but if the opponent gets the same result with a 5.56 AUG at a distance of 10 meters, you will go down first.
Therefore, the YouTuber recommends carrying an M13 loadout with a strong SMG as a secondary weapon. For example, the AUG with the small 25-round magazine of the 5.56 caliber. The AUG with the conversion kit (which allows you to change the ammunition type) is considered the strongest weapon in Warzone.
Pros and Cons of the M13
More info on the M13 and comparison with the competition
What type of weapon is the M13? Here, we have a lightweight assault rifle with 5.56 caliber, modeled after the German “SIG MCX” made by the firearms manufacturer “SIG SAUER” based in Schleswig-Holstein.
The “SIG MCX” platform is considered extremely versatile, and in Call of Duty: Warzone, you can create anything from MP-like run & gun rifles to long-range weapons from the M13.
However, the assault rifle deals relatively low damage and has even the lowest damage per bullet among automatic weapons in the game (only the 9mm rounds of the M4A1 deal slightly less damage – here for the analysis).
M13 or M4A1?
The M4 is the all-round rifle and receives plenty of attention in regular multiplayer and Warzone. If you choose the M4A1, you can hardly go wrong. For solo mode, there is even a particularly strong build.
However, the M13 is slightly more stable. While the M4 also offers very stable setups, you have to correct much more than with the M13.
Both weapons can be found frequently as loot in Warzone and are therefore easy to level up without starting the plunder mode. If you want reliable hits, go for the M13, or if you prefer higher damage – M4A1.
- Balls per kill – 3 plates
- M4A1: 9
- M13: 11
- Rate of fire – rounds per minute
- M4A1: 833
- M13: 923
- Calculated TTK – 3 plates
- M4A1: 648 ms
- M13: 715 ms
M13 or Grau 5.56?
These two weapons are truly similar, but they solve their problems quite differently. While the M13 brings a high rate of fire and stability, the Grau shoots more slowly and hence is generally better controlled than most other 5.56 assault rifles.
The Grau 5.56 becomes a top assault rifle with the right setups, as it has strong handling characteristics but sacrifices damage. It has the highest range among assault rifles and the fastest aim down sights (ADS) time. A deadly combination.
However, the stable assault rifle is not available to every player. The weapon is unlocked through a assault rifle challenge, as it was introduced in the Season 2 Battle Pass.
If you have both weapons, the decision here is much harder than with other competitors. The TTK is almost identical to the M13 and the handling is very good as well. However, due to the low fire rate, the Grau consumes less ammunition, which makes it slightly better than the M13, which you can level up easily in Warzone.
- Balls per kill – 3 plates
- Grau 5.56: 9
- M13: 11
- Rate of fire – rounds per minute
- Grau 5.56: 750
- M13: 923
- Calculated TTK – 3 plates
- Grau 5.56: 720 ms
- M13: 715 ms
The mobile M13 assault rifle is a reliable companion in Call of Duty: Warzone. The precise shots give you a certain confidence during firefights, which can be a pleasant feeling.
As the weapon is found everywhere in Verdansk, you may have already unlocked some weapon levels and attachments. Try out the “Laser”; it could be worth it. The right tactics can be found in the strategy guide of the most successful Warzone player.
