The DMR 14 weapon is so overpowering in Call of Duty: Warzone that calls for its (next) nerf already echo far beyond the usual Reddit posts.
This is the weapon in question: The weapon that has provided talking points for weeks and especially calls for nerfs is the DMR 14 from the Arsenal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It found its way into the battle royale with the integration of Cold War into Warzone.
What is the problem with this weapon? In short: Ever since its introduction at the beginning of the current Season 1, the DMR 14 has taken an overwhelmingly powerful role in Warzone. It dominated the battle royale and was simply too strong, leading to a very one-sided meta for weeks.
Even a nerf of the DMR couldn’t really change anything about that. The weapon still effortlessly wipes out entire squads with just one magazine and continues to dominate almost every match.

Yes, Warzone has experienced some OP weapons in its first year. However, the DMR 14 has become so notorious that it now generates conversation far beyond Reddit – even in places where one would hardly expect it.
This is how fans are trying to force another DMR nerf: For example, the YouTuber EazyIan protested for a DMR nerf on the streets of Los Angeles and found solidarity:
For example, the demand for a DMR nerf even appeared in politics – during a live chat at a press conference of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Even Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has had desperate fans asking for help for Warzone in a live chat:
What about another nerf for the DMR? The community currently believes that another nerf for the DMR is basically inevitable – the only question is: when?
Because the criticism of the weapon is still loud, but there have been no concrete statements from the developers so far.
At Raven Software, it was only stated after the last nerf on Twitter that players should continue to provide constructive feedback.
When and how the DMR 14 could be adjusted again is not yet known – even if many assume that the high precision of this OP weapon will likely be addressed first.
