Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War is coming soon. Just in time for the release, the developers are cleaning up and banning cheaters from the game. This is now the third ban wave alone in February.
So many cheaters were banned: In a new tweet, the developers revealed that on February 23, another ban wave hit cheaters and banned them from Warzone. There were already bans for unfair players on February 2 and February 20, along with improvements to the anti-cheat system.
Even though no numbers were mentioned in the new ban waves, 60,000 cheaters were banned from the game in early February. With the two subsequent waves, this number has now risen again.
The new wave comes just before Season 2 and removes many cheaters before its release. Season 2 of Warzone and Cold War starts on February 25.
Cheaters are a big problem, but not the only one
What other problems are there? In addition to cheaters, there are still players exploiting glitches in the game. A popular and frequently used glitch is the so-called “Stim glitch,” which has occurred four times in the game.
With this, players can survive endlessly in the gas circle, making it impossible for fair players to achieve a victory. The glitch annoys many players so much that they willingly forfeit victory to hunt and eliminate exploiters.
Moreover, there are ongoing complaints about weapon balance. The MAC-10, for example, is still considered too strong a weapon that many players use, annoying others. However, according to many players, the biggest problem remains the cheaters, of which there should now be fewer.
What’s next for Warzone? The upcoming Season 2 brings numerous new weapons, skins, and a battle pass. There’s even a map change for Warzone with 2 completely new modes for the battle royale.
The pre-load for the patch for Season 2 has already begun on all platforms. Depending on where you play, you’ll need to download different file sizes:
